Colmslie Recreation Reserve reviews
48IAM out here on school holidays.lots of the kids equipment is broken.lots of rubbish.crows.made a complaint to the council.high amount of people.
Go there twice a week. Great staff, so friendly and the pool is well maintained each day. The showers are large enough. Haven't had coffee there yet but the snacks look yummy. Highly recommend this place.
Great place to hang out, go fishing, watch boats/jet skis come in and go out. Great views of the river and gateway bridge. Large lawn area for picnic. Bbq and undercover tables and seating. Toilets. Limited parking.
Dog park, small playground.
I had no idea this park went to the river. Home of swimming/gym, hockey, cricket, rowing, off the leash dog park, picnic area and boat ramp.
Visited the dog park with my dog Mabel. Theres plenty of parking that's shared with the boat ramp and jetty, that may be busier on the weekend. It's a decent size, room for zoomies and has some tree cover. There's a few bits of equipment for activities, A-frame ramp, weaving posts, 3 little hurdles, a short tunnel etc. There's a few benches for the Humans too. I went as it got dark and unfortunately there's lighting. The nearby sports complex was operating and it's large stadium lights weren't directly lighting the dog park but were adding a bit of ambient light which i think helped a bit. 2 other dog owners came and left while i was there, so it's not busy after dark, but possibly not completely abandoned for long either. One corner is muddy after the weather we've had, which stopped a pair of dogs from being allowed to enter. As with most places after rain and in the dark, there were mozzies, so wear long pants and sleeves or use repellent.
Lovely general recreation area just off the lower reaches of the Brisbane River.
There's a small playground for the kids, a fully fenced off leash dog area and a small beach for dipping toes into the river and allowing dogs to have a splash.
We singed up for another membership at the pool & gym. Staff have always been friendly, easy to access amenities.
This place is the bomb if your wanting to take your dog for a walk or swim. I have a frenchie and he goes crazy for the beach. It was a blast he ran along the beach and through the water on high tide it’s perfect whereas low tide there’s lots of sticks and rocks and rubbish that washes up. I made sure to pop what rubbish I did find in the bin. There’s a dog park, childrens playground with a wheelchair swing. There’s a large field separate from everything that’s perfect for picnics cricket, fetch and it’s like the size of a football field with trees around the edges of the field. There’s views of lovely Hamilton and construction
Can be busy on weekends, due to boat ramp, public swimming pool, hockey club, etc has public toilets
Lovely peaceful spot. Apply insect repellent freely before using the nice clean toilets, mangroves nearby!
Nice place with the parks and beach, decent dog park with shade, plenty of seating and good equipment. Worth a trip with the dog if nearby.
Good place to put the jetski in to cruise the Brisbane river. Two ramps and a small beach. Toilets and park
Great indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Perfect for children. The bathroom facilities need updating.
Great facilities, bathrooms were clean and all area maintained. Good place to park overnight if you need to, quiet for the city.
Peaceful location on the Brisbane River. Had great playgrounda for the kids, BBQs and a spot to wander through mangroves, a sandy beach area where you can fish.
Do pack the insect repellant! Mosquitoes flies are abundant.
Good access to the Brisbane River when launching a boat. Good fishing platform for landbased fisho's and plenty of open grassed areas for kids to run around with a few sheltered tables and chairs to kick back on.
Nice place plenty of parking. A great place to go fishing off the pier. There is plenty of parking and other facilities.
Colmslie Reserve is a great sport to go and picnic by the river. Or even just sit and watch the life of the river. There's a boat ramp, fishing pier, toilets and a pontoon to tie your boat up to.
I grew up in nearby Cannon Hill, and in the crowded house where I lived, Colmslie was a place I liked to go for some peace and quiet in the 1960's. In those days, the nearby abattoirs and remnants of WWII made this sport a lot less pleasant than it is today.
Open space beside the River with play area, dog park and BBQ's, plus good take-away seafood up the road
Went there early morning with the intention of taking some photos of the Gateway bridge with the lights on, was not disappointed
