This is a great gym! While healthworks was closed I tried many gyms in the area. Some of the larger gyms were ancient and dirty, others were jammed packed with equipment that you had to turn sideways to walk around and others had very minimal staffed hours. What used to be a chore for me, has now been made exciting and challenging through Club Lime’s additions of innovative equipment and a re-vamped gym space. There are so many new additions, with the grassed areas and the sled push is awesome. Yes the group fitness room is smaller BUT is comparable with another bigger gym in the area. Group fitness is done by a booking system but this allows it to be the fairest and safest. Yes the sauna has been down for a long time but this was due to people putting water where they shouldn’t, hopefully this doesn’t happen again. The communication from Management is the only downside, a local Facebook page or monthly email updates as to keep members informed of changes/updates.

I am newish to club Lime. So I haven’t been here long but I can say that the revamp was definitely needed. I know people don’t like change but it has really made a difference. I know others have complained about the group fitness room becoming smaller but for me this is a win. Less people in a class gives the instructor more opportunity to give feedback and make adjustments to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly which I really appreciate.
The carpet was gross- if you think about how many people have sweated on that you might feel positive about hardwood floors.
The whole place is so much cleaner, and light.loving the brand new pump equipment and that mats are provided for the classes unlike before. The staff seem really lovely, friendly and helpful. The manager there was so helpful setting up my app and showing me how to book classes. I’m sure she has better things to do….
so it shows dedication when the manager is helping out members!
I’m super happy

PROs The gym and equipment are a great upgrade.
It's clean and more upmarket.
Free internet.
Free yoga mat's supplied.

CONs like others have said the decrease in classroom size is
poor compared to the original size.
This could have been avoided by extending it to where
the creche used to be.
I would guess that 60% or more members only go to
classes so its a problem for a lot of members.
Some popular long-time instructor losses are sad to see.
The sauna has been out of commission too long.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. The recent transition from Healthworks to Club Lime has resulted in a significant decrease in the quality of services provided. The renovation has resulted in a severe lack of class space, as well as number of classes (especially step classes) which was my main motivator for going to the gym.

Furthermore, all the good instructors have left the club for unknown reasons. As a result, there is now a limited variety of classes available, which is frustrating for members who enjoyed these classes in the past. When I asked the manager about this, they told me that there were no more instructors available, which is unacceptable for any established gym.

Additionally, the gym's lack of adequate staff means that members are left to figure out how to use the equipment on their own, which is dangerous and could result in injuries. Speaking to the managers about this issue is also inconvenient, as they are always busy talking to someone else.

This gym has new equipment and open gym space, but the lack of class space and the loss of talented instructors have been major setbacks. The new layout prioritizes open space over group fitness classes, which is frustrating for long-time members who relied on them. While the gym has some positives, they are overshadowed by the decline in services and lack of trainers to assist.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the decline in the quality of services at this gym. The lack of space, variety of classes, and good instructors make it a poor choice for anyone looking for a quality gym experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a gym that values its members and provides adequate services.

This is my review about the group fitness classes.
I had been coming to Healthworks for many years. I joined for the group fitness classes. Unfortunately healthworks was sold to Club Lime. Prior to the closure for renovations approximately 200 members wrote a signed letter to Club Lime with concerns about the group fitness classes. We received a response from a Kristine that it will be passed on but no other response.
After renovations, the group fitness classroom is half the size it was. It is now hard floors (carpet before), so uncomfortable/painful for some classes. Only one fan remains which most of the time does not spin. There were four fans before. They said more were coming weeks ago.
The fan is filthy and so is the ceiling above. Full of dust and cobwebs.
Many classes have been cancelled altogether. No step classes. A lot of low impact classes like Zumba and yoga if you’re into that. I am not. We now have to book classes. We didn’t before. Class bookings open 3 days before. Too bad if you forget to book you will miss out. You are restricted to booking only one class. An email response from Chloe at Club Lime said you can book 2 classes a day but they need to be atleast 3 hours apart. Before you could do as many as you like. Some did 3 classes in a row. They are threatening to do a roll call and members having to prove their bookings.
Have already noticed quite a few members no longer there and same with long term great instructors.
Some of my friends/members have reported their interaction with the new manager as coming across being rude.
Some came early to set up a spot for a class and the manager told other people to take their spot. When asked about it she said you’re not allowed to as other people may want to use the class room prior to class.
The equipment is all new - again if you’re into that. But us group fitness members are not.
There appears to be a lot of unused space in the main gym area. Apparently more equipment is coming.
Yoga mats are supplied but as the floors are so hard you still need to double up with your own mat.
Crèche is also gone.
The bathrooms are much cleaner than before but still a ridiculous amount of dust build up in the vents.
The closure for renovations allowed us to explore and try other gyms in the area.
If the group fitness class situation is not corrected - AJs Sports Centre Algester offers what Healthworks offered and much more. Many members are already at AJs. AJs is more expensive but Club Lime has increased the price anyway. You get what you pay for and we would rather give it to a gym that values their members.
We are being told if you don’t like it you can go elsewhere.
Club lime - don’t tell us to email our concerns. That was already done as stated above to 3 separate email addresses with no response. You never sought feedback from us prior to the changes and did nothing about our concerns addressed in the email.
Suggestions so far after renovations have been ignored.
Update: sat 8/4/23 - yep, they made everyone prove their bookings by showing it to them on our phone app. Like this is some free class we’ve turned up for. Not a membership we paid for! Disgusting!

Healthworks was my favourite gym for many years. NOT ANYMORE. Since the new management took over and the refurbishment, the studio space for group classes has reduced significantly which means only limited spaces available. I have never seen such a small space for group classes, it’s poor planning. It’s very disappointing as I loved the group classes.

I signed up December of last year, a month after signing up without any notice the gym changed ownership and shut down for renovations for almost 2 months, all this time charging my credit card for a gym that's closed, total scam.

Having been a member for over 20 years with Horizons then Healthworks and having my current 12 month membership on hold for most of the time due to injury thought they could carry over the membership freeze I had. New management are very rude took ages to get back to me. In my opinion I am going to choose another gym. To all my long-term friends I know you all keep asking when am I coming back, not now. I miss you all, but after the way I have been treated I Don't recommend it. I deserved a better outcome, having being a member for soooo long.

They get rid off many classes.
They don't allow back to back booking. We have paid. We should be able to book as many as we want. Only certain ppl can get a tag.

Enjoying the fresh layout and equipment. Unfortunately, the new company reduced the size of the exercise class room. Now the classes are EXTREMELY packed and as a result they are going to have to restrict the numbers with bookings. It was literally a WHS hazard TODAY with people right next to each other and weights at your feet. This means members like myself who have been going for years will potentially miss out on our weekly classes. It would have been nice to get feedback prior to refurb or at least look at the class numbers for the past 12 months. The new equipment is definitely a positive:)
