Clem Jones Centre Swim School reviews
20 Great swim school and amazing instructors. My son enjoyed his time learning swimming here.
Unfortunately he kept getting sick and was missing out on lessons.
The only disappointment is, the swim school’s policy which only allows 2 makeup lessons per term.
Negative experiences on more than a couple occasions spanning a 7 year period. Poor assessment and lack of progression across swimming levels. A couple of good coaches over the years but they don’t stay long. Some coaches appear to not like what they are doing - lack of enthusiasm and positivity. My children have told me of a few comments that I’d even rank in the inappropriate bucket (more negative than needed to be) but taught them to brush it off.
Also, I’m no scientist but it recently dawned on me that the same pool is used for elderly people and rehab patients with possible incontinence as for children who swallow water when learning to swim. Surely this can’t be good. I regret subjecting my children to it. Kept going back for convenience reasons and because the kids like that outdoor pool with the slides but regret my decisions.
Be mindful and I would observe lessons if you have the option. Keep both ears and eyes open.
Kids are all much happier here over Aquatic achievers Gumdale. Over the moon with the instructors and how patient they are with the younger ones.
Swimming is no longer a chore and the kids are keen to get there every week.
Very nice pools and gyms, outdoor and indoor as well. Good coffees and nice food. Perfect for training and family gathering
Haven't even started to attend swimming classes, gave them a week's notice that my child was sick and asked to move the start date back a week and they still charged me for it. This was towards the end of a term, during a not so busy season during spring. I wasn't interested in making up classes, as the term was about to end anyway. Also, first ever lesson, the coach knew my child didn't swim at all, still asked her to jump into the deep end, didn't catch her, she ended up swallowing a lot of water, got so terrified by the experience that she still talks about it! Never going back.
Clean, life guard, well maintained, friendly staff, different pools for different age groups, shaded areas with tables and chairs or space to set up picnic rugs and towels.
Shocking not that on 35 degree day after school was only one lane open for us all swim so crowded u could not move or splash around the pool was so hot either from ever one having share one lane over crowded body heat or everyone peeing in it I don't u b judge of that one
The Canteen at the Clem Jones Centre have wonderful coffee and a great selection of Ice creams, cold drinks, snacks and Hot Foods - including Nuggets, hot chips and Calamari (*YUM)!
Calamarion a kiosk menu? !? ! Yes! Keep the kids happy at lunch time while enjoying a Mango / Banana Smoothie or a delicious coffee.
Good job Clem Jones Centre.
Really nice pool area and well maintained! The young guy at the front desk was super friendly and happy.the older lady at the canteen.not so much. It would have been 5 stars but she was a real grump.
Great facilities though:)
Craig and the team at the CJ Swim School are brilliant. Both our kids have learnt to swim there and the CJ Swim School team cultivate a brilliant family feel despite the challenges of COVID-19. Well done guys!
The Clem Jones Swim Centre does not support children of split parenting as money is their main focus. This is a far site different than what Clem Jones himself invisioned when assisting the establishment of our fair city. Shame on this establishment.
Great pool and surrounds for family and swimmers alike. Brilliant squad and swimming club and very well run learn to swim section.
The Clem Jones Aquatic centre is a wonderful boon to those of us who have limited mobility.
Friendly staff, excellent pool and ease of access is amazing. I enjoy my time there and benefit from the exercise.
We've been taking our kids here for 7 years they started their swimming lessons at 6 months of age and still going.we have always been super happy with the staff and lessons, with the new facilities in the complex and the plans to expand it's looking like there are exciting times ahead for the whole complex
Place is good however the staff at the entrance, as well as in the indoor swimming pool area has always been rude for the past year I've attended. I won't even be going back there anymore as I'm over giving money to a place who are just plain rude.
Great complex for all age, pool, swimming school, kid birthday function, gym, more to list etc.
It has 3 outside pools which cater for babies in the ankle deep pool, older children in the pool with tipping buckets raining mushrooms and 2 water slides and the 50 meter pool for laps.
Amazing community centre - well priced for gym, pool and swimming lessons (and probably other stuff we haven't used yet) - a genuine asset to the community and a rare find. Keep up the great work.
Lovely staff, the water is so clean and clear. I love this pool. The showers are also fantastic.
Nice place but disappointing there isn't more shade over the outdoor pool areas and we couldn't use the indoor pool
