Much nicer than Stones Corner. The immunity tea is delicious. It was nice being offered music for the float rather than 10 mins at start and end.
The chill out room is comfortable and a large area.
Parking on site. Enter compex via Longland Street.

Update: august 2023
Renovations i think have made the reception feel smaller. On my visit it was really busy. So there were no free spaces.

I recently had a disheartening experience at the spa that left me feeling upset and frustrated. Despite having a confirmed appointment, I encountered discrimination from some spa members based on my accent and background. It's disheartening to face racism, especially in a place meant for relaxation. What added to the distress was the apparent preference to book someone else into my scheduled appointment. This incident highlights the need for a more inclusive and respectful environment at the spa. Addressing such issues is crucial for ensuring that everyone can enjoy their spa experience without facing discrimination. It is sad that racism and discrimination is still a thing in 2024. Very disappointing. If I choose to go public with this I am sure it will grab a lot of attention both online and by everyone else about this spa.

My experience at City Cave was excellent, they have great people working there. I had my appointment with Andre Luiz and his massage was fabulous! Really recommend

Booked a massage here, the gentleman was very pleasant and professional however, the massage was fast, aggressive and painful! So aggressive that throughout my massage my face was pushed into the metal bar, from the face hole. Thankfully, the 80s disco music, the temporary drilling in the wall and the alarm going off half way through was distracting enough to get through the hr and ahalf!

This was my first visit to CityCave Newstead. I booked for an infrared sauna and a float (I’ve previously had a float elsewhere). I was warmly welcomed and waited in the relaxation area whilst I watched the video for first time floaters. When taken to the sauna I was given a run down of how it works and told that as a first timer I may want to lower the temperature. I did in fact lower the temperature by 8C (from 58 to 50) but still found it too hot. I eventually came out of the sauna before the end of my session as I was feeling overheated. After cooling off in the relaxation area I went through for my float. Again everything was explained and I chose to have the music on for the full hour, however once I put the ear plugs in I couldn’t really hear it anyway. I had no problems floating and fell asleep, waking up just at the right time. After showering, I found that I was sweating loads which made getting dressed difficult, it was just too hot in the room. I was advised afterwards that I could request to have the heating off. I left the room and went to the beauty station to dry my hair but the hairdryer cut out after about 30 seconds. When I queried this with the staff I was told that it overheats and to give it a few minutes. After a few minutes it still wasn’t working and I wasn’t offered any alternative, so left with wet hair which wasn’t ideal.
All in all, I’m not sure I got what I wanted from the experience. I ended up hot and bothered and unsure if the float had any benefit.

I’ve tried a lot of city caves but unfortunately this is the worst one I have been too. The place itself was lovely which most of the city caves are however the low rating comes from the cleanness. The sauna I went in was disgusting. All in the corners of the sauna has a built of of dirt and dust. The heaters were also filthy. The sauna itself was stained on the walls and it just gave me not a good feeling feeling like they don’t clean their saunas well. I won’t be going back to that one.

Wow Wow Wow. Greeted with such niceness and care. From start to finish the whole experience was peaceful and stress releasing. The float rooms are well maintained and the experience was extremely relaxing for the muscles and mind. Will be doing this a lot as a recovery for our needs after playing sports tournaments. Thank you to the team. Such a great experience.

I have had the pleasure of getting remedial massages by two therapist at City Cave Newstead, Mari & Andre! They were both fantastic! I couldn’t recommend them more!

Infrared sauna and float tank experiences are excellent each time I visit. Facility is clean, relaxing and provides high quality complimentary toiletries. Staff are warm and friendly.

Awesome spot to chill out after a busy week! Having had a soak at Paddington City Cave recently I popped by Newstead for a infrared sauna. Really nice clean atmosphere and a great way to really unwind and sweat the week away. Great franchise and great options for a relaxing session, whether you float, sweat or chill. Well priced and fab atmosphere.

Love the facilities and try to float as often as possible. Last time I went I finished my float and then went to dry my hair at what used to be the beauty session but there were no hairdryers. I asked if I could have one but told that they had to take them away because of Covid. I understood this but explained that previously they had had them and that I was going for lunch with some friends and if I could please use one as I wasn’t informed at the time of booking that this facility had been removed. The staff member who I was talking to wasn’t very friendly about the whole situation. I explained that I would’ve been happy to bring my own hairdryer had I been informed and tried to convince the staff member to loan me a dryer and that I would use the bathroom in private to dry my hair. The girl went and got me a hairdryer but was very abrupt and seemed irritated that I was persistent in my request. I’d suggested afterwards that it would be best if staff inform customers at the time of booking that they will need to bring their own so as to avoid this situation in future.

Great way to take some quite time out for yourself. It's a bit strange to start with but that's because we aren't used to silence. Just go with it, give it a go and eventually it becomes more and more easier to relax. Had a lovely chat with the receptionist after my treatment. She kept checking in to ask how I felt and I had a nice cup of herbal tea while I tried to bring myself back to earth.ha ha

Did a couples’ float with my husband yesterday and it was extremely underwhelming and not relaxing at all. It felt just like floating in a normal swimming pool but in pitch darkness. The hour went by incredibly slowly and we couldn’t wait for the session to end. My husband’s shoulders even started hurting halfway through due to the awkward position you’re in while you float. Complete waste of money, just buy a $5 membership at a community pool and you can float there for as many hours as you want. Very disappointed with the experience.

First time, I didnt know what to expect, I went in just wanting a sauna before the lovely lady behind the counter who was training the newer girl conned me for an upsell. But I went through because heck it was a calming experience from the moment I stepped in the door. After that every moment was honeslty amazing, I went into the float skeptical as and came out converted! I cannot wait to have another experience
Thank you! I am sorry I didnt get their names but please pass the praise on!

The new digs is awesome. But what is more awesome is the courtesy of all staff members there. Do yourself a favour and book something there for yourself!

First time floater and won’t me the last. The whole “cave” is a very relaxing environment from the moment you walk in to reception. The staff were very friendly and explained how it works before leaving us to drift off for the next hour. The pool is larger than I expected with plenty of room for two. Very reasonably priced, especially for a couple. Next time I might even get the massage after floating.

Wonderful experience, such a great place to relax and recharge. I actually almost fell asleep in the float pool. Facilities were nice and clean, the herbal tea was delicious and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. I've already purchased another 2 floats! Next time I'll get a massage too:) well done guys
