The information centre and staff is fine, but the opening hours are limited as staffed by volunteers, HOWEVER there should be a donation box safely installed so campers from the Chinchilla Weir can safely put their money donations. Chinchilla you are missing out very badly.

Great little info centre, with plenty of useful information and gifts. Great place to start you adventures in the Western Downs or further afield.

What an Easter blunder! We turned up lunch time ready to shop, and it was closed already! Lots of Easter travellers pulling up and shaking their heads. You'd expect a place like this to EXTEND its hours over the Easter weekend, not reduce them! Really dropped the ball here guys. Open all next week though 9-4: 30 when we are all back at work 5 hours away LOL.

Local Chinchilla pride really shines through here! We spoke to the permanent staff member (I’ve sadly forgotten her name, bit tired after a big trip!) —she was an incredibly friendly and vibrant presence, spoke so highly of the wonderful volunteers, and most importantly, provided valuable information that has inspired my partner and I to make another trip to the region in future!

The centre also has an excellent selection of locally made arts and crafts, each with a story. We were particularly touched by the memorial seat acknowledging all the former long-serving volunteers.

Very nice volunteer helped us alot, but no parking for more than 1 caravan at a time, no sign to say park across the street, definitely NOT well signed

I've been there twice now. Each visit, I've found the staff to be very friendly and full of information about the area, and happy to have a chat

Very hard to work out where you can park. 1 maybe 2 caravans can park at a time. No parking on either side of road. Parking not good for tourists. Very disappointed. Staff were great when we finally worked out where to park.

Everyone in Chinchilla is so helpful and nice. Great walks and riding tracks. Not a great lot to see but worth a couple of days to visit Chinchilla and outer regions.

Anne was extremely helpful for me in organising information for all of our 22 caravans that spent a week in Chinchilla. She went out of her way to give directions to attractions and even judged our hippy costumes. Thank you Anne and volunteers!

Lorna was a very helpful person. She assisted us with our fossicking license and was very helpful in giving us advice on fossicking. She was also very knowledgeable on local history and we really enjoyed our time at the visitor centre.

So glad we stopped in here. Not only did we get useful information about wanting to visit Barakula forest but we discovered Peter Jeffery. His petrified wood pieces are just beautiful. He spends over 20 hours each grit getting those pieces so smooth. These locals are great sources of information and very helpful. Thanks everyone!

Very helpful staff. The up grade of the highway is a bit of an issue, however as soon as the works are completed will be perfect to access the Info Centre.
