Chermside Tavern

I had an absolute surprise on Saturday when we dropped into Chermside Tavern. I received the warmest welcome from the Tavern's manager. Her genuine friendly smile can not be missed. Once I was greeted, I recognised her to be Anna from Nudgee Tavern. I didn't think Chermside Tavern could get any better with The Man Jay there. Jay is always so welcoming and friendly, Jay is a skilled mixologist who can create drinks that taste and look like a million dollars. This Tavern was already 8/10 before Anna, kudos to Chermside for hiring Anna as manager. Now Chermside is 10/10. The team is always happy for your visits. They are always ready to make your day a little better. We are not big spenders. Most of the time, my client only wants to order bread and pita chips with 3 dips. Not once were we ever made to feel unwelcome, even when the lunch menu had not yet started. The staff is always happy to help, as they know my client has difficulty understanding restaurants have set times for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. It's always a great feeling when a restaurant is willing to turn a difficult situation into something positive. This is my client's statement she made today while we were there: "I feel so happy every time we come here, I think everyone here loves me. Do you know why they love me? " Now, that's priceless.
I highly recommend Chermside Tavern.

Now, my suggestion: Anna needs to go to Nudgee Tavern and train their staff (mainly the event manager) on the act of smiling. The act of passion, the act of friendliness, nothing improves over at Nudgee. I don't know how two Taverns can be such polar opposites.

Classy Bar and restaurant. Food and drinks are so good been here twice and up to more visits soon. Thank you and I highly recommend Chermside Tavern, staffs are great too.

We ordered a big breakfast, ill tell you what, just the toast alone was incredible I could have just eaten the toast by itself, the rest of the 'big breakfast" was amazing thank you for an amazing breakfast

I had steak. It was under cooked, and salad and chips were a very small portion.
The place is nice and the people friendly.

The only reason it doesn't get a five star review is purely because it's at Chermside shopping centre.

Food was good, well cooked. The beef nachos was great and yummy. Ambiance was nice and relaxing. One of the older female staff didn't seem very friendly, the rest of them were nice.

Big brekkie so wonderful and have reasonable price! I also like the atmosphere here. I will come here next time to try other meal. I highly recommend come here with your friends for a chill weekend!

$27 Steak sandwich with cheese Bacon and cheese was thicker than the slice of steak. Steak from deli slicer.

Reply to Reply. Thank you for reply, I only imply steak from deli because it thin enough to be cut from deli slicer, maybe adjust deli slicer to 10mm instead of 2mm. Bacon was thicker.
I get steak sandwich from corner shops $11 with works. Feed two people 1 sandwich. 200g steak easy.
Your overhead high so pass on to people.

From Jaye who looked after us all arvo to the chef who welcomed and checked in on us after our awesome meals along with the bar staff, it’s a huge shout out to you all. Came here on a Saturday morning and ordered big breakfast.
The food took 30 minutes to come out with only 1 other group in the tavern. No explanation was given and the server was rude when asked whe food was coming.
I'd recommend against this place if you want speedy and nice service.

Came in for a beer and a feed and to be honest the chefs special was nice and tasty. Thanks Chef. Yes there was a wait but there were also a few tables that had ordered. The lady boss and the young bearded fella were great! They were under the pump and were working real hard. Props to them. My biggest issue was the big fella with the glasses and beard that came on at 1pm. The dude had 2 drinks, stuffing his face full of lollies, on his phone behind the bar, checking the fork PC and just really not pulling his wait. He was on shift for just over 30 mins from my observations. He came out a couple of times when food was up but didn't clear tables or assist the young fella in anyway! Scraping the barrel when we hired him hey? !

It's a shame, they are very understaffed at the moment. I don't really like the atmosphere, I think it needs an update, but the food was good quality as were the drinks.

Wow what can I say. They have the best happy hour between 4-6 each day and all pints are $5. Also during happy hour you put your name on the receipt and it goes into a draw for prizes and I won a $10 voucher to spend on food or drinks

We had a big group of 26 here recently and the Tavern coped well. We ordered, paid, and the food was given to us quickly. The friendly staff diligently checked that we had all received our meals and desserts. The venue seemed clean and airy with doors open. I would definitely recommend dining at this venue.

If the price for the 250g steak is increased by $1 then it should be communicated in the written form on the Menu - not tell customers the Menu hasn't been updated yet and try to charge extra $1.

Otherwise great Service and great food - Compliments to the chef.

Customer service was fantastic, the setting was nice and relaxing. My client and I love their bacon cheese toast absolutely beautiful.

My Husband wanted to go out for a beer a few nights ago and we were served by the most kind and beautiful young lady named Hayley, fantastic service and an even better conversation it's just a shame I can't give her a higher rating loved it here

Steak sandwich was so good. And SO huge that I could only finish half. Chips perfectly cooked and service was really friendly.
