Charlie De Cod Ipswich

Ordered a pack for two, asked for two serves of chips with chicken salt. No chicken salt, seemed like one serve of chips and the chips were bland. Fish was okay, nothing great.

I buy here every week fish n chips have always been excellent
But tonight I didn’t get there usual the same excellence fish n chips….
Chips were soggy and fish was very oily …. Made be a need for change of oil!

Classic fish and chips. Quick, clean and great service. Highly recommend. Especially if you're kiwi like me and find it hard to find a place that does decent fish and chips

Tonight I placed a large order on the phone of 3 battered cod, 2 serves of calamari rings, (24) 1 large spring roll, and 3 fish sticks, I was told 15 min it will be ready. So when I got to the store 15 min later there was a line of 20 odd people so went to the left of the line and told one of the 4 people working there I had placed an order by phone and asked if it was ready. The owner of the store told me to go to the back of the line and wait. I said to him I didn’t want cold food so I ordered earlier. He didn’t care what so ever, so I went to the back of the line with everyone eles who were still working out what they wanted to order.after 15 min or more I got back to the counter and the owner produced a large box of cold food and asked me to pay for it. I told him directly that you want me to pay over $60 for cold food and terrible service he is kidding himself. And by the looks of the food I seen leaving the store I didn’t miss out on much. If the owner was intelligent all the food that was ready he would have had another staff member serve them while the other person took new orders.
Absolute disgrace, I would rather find another fish and chip store in Ipswich, than put up with arrogance and disgusting service. They don’t deserve to be in business.up until tonight I was spending upwards of $150 per month. And that’s how I get treated.

Best fish and chips in Ipswich by far, have tried other places alike and they don't even come a close second. The chips were hot, light and crispy, not oil soaked or dry from sitting in a hot bow for to long and the fish was just delicious

Place was packed with a line out the door, but I can honestly understand why! I ordered battered cod and chips and it was a nice large piece of cod and cooked to perfect crispness. It's now my go to fish and chip shop.

I have never eaten at the restaurant only ever taken food away. This place is by far the best fish and chips I have had in the ipswich area so far.

Absolutely fabulous battered snapper. Batter light and crispy perfectly cooked. Calamari tender and beautifully cooked. First time there will be back.

I frequent this shop at least once a week for prawns and fish. The best in Ipswich and surounding area.

Ian (mr charlie de cod) makes the best crumbed whiting ever.lightly crumbed and cooked just right.then the prawn cutlets always good.and dont forget to take home the fresh oysters in the shell.you wont be sorry.leaves the much acclaimed costco oysters behind by miles

The worse customer service with eyes rolling and a disinterested Manager just as bad…Totally understand that it gets busy in the shop but the immature rude behaviour was just disgusting…Its a shame really cause the food wasnt bad at all but I wont go back based on the attitude geez

You will not find a better fish and chip shop, always fresh, cooked perfectly and great prices.

First time at the shop and the staff, omg. They are amazing. They loved our matching Christmas shirts and were so lovely five stars for customer service

Quality of the food and value is top nitch. One of the best I have ever been too. Never had bad food from here ever in all the times we have been.

Only thing is staff can be hit and miss. Sometimes welcoming and other times short and almost rude.

We have tried a few local places but tonight's Fish and chips are hands down the best we have had. Good size portions, freshly cooked and very reasonabl priced. Will be making this our local chippie from now on.

Chicken Burgers are a 5/5 and the price is good value for money as well as their Fisherman's Basket 5/5 for taste variety and size, can easily feed 2-3 people perfect for the kids.
