I was fortunate enough to complete a week trial at Careca Jiu Jitsu a couple of months ago and I couldn't recommend the gym more!

Camila was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with, when responding to my emails and providing options of memberships for me. I work 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off, so it was important to have an arrangement that was financially viable. Moving into the gym, I can't say how privileged I felt to be under the instruction of Rafael, who is a very humble and welcoming head coach. He took the time in his group classes to individually coach me on techniques so I had a better experience during my trial. I hadn't even committed to training there and that's how he looked after me! Finally, every one of the students I encountered during my trial, no matter their experience level were very friendly and created a great atmosphere. No cliques or egos here, just people that love the sport and the community.

So why didn't I sign up?

Well, unfortunately for me, I have pre-existing injuries, and chronic pain, which flare up as a result of various physical activities, (Jiu Jitsu being one), and negativily impact my quality of life. Truly disappointing, as I was very happy here and felt ready to take on a new challenge.

With that being said, hopefully after reading this, any nerves, doubts or excuses you had about trying Careca have been quashed, and you're ready to book your own trial and see for yourself.

Hopefully I'll see you there one day!
