Brisbane Showgrounds reviews
68The actual event was great - although the queues for entry were unbelievable. People were also jumping them and no security meant they were able to which was disheartening for us that actually know how to wait our turn
I hate the Ekka! I didn't go to it this year or ever again but I went there when I was a baby once and got the flu or a tummy bug and tripped over on the floor. Also the food and the showbags are a waste of money! The rides are dangerous too, I haven’t been on one but they’re dangerous. It's also crowded and noisy. The only thing that is ok is the petting zoo and animals but everything else is a rip off! I won’t ever be coming back here to the Ekka! If you want to trip over on the floor, catch a stomach flu and get ripped off go to the Ekka!
Good things festival this year was fantastic! Set up was much better compared to other years I've attended
Went for the model train expo. Ran into some old mates that I have not seen since my now men were little boys in school. The expo was amazing
Bad event.brisbane bbq festival what a joke.pay to get in and try food van.nothing In vendors was bbq or steak or meat done on a bbq.shame on you for hosting such a poor event
Caravan and camping show was extensive, informative and inspiring. Lots of choices, innovations and costs.
RACQ motorfest was good. $2.00 to get in (gold coin donation). $15.00 to get out of the onsite parking which they didn't tell you about. RNA would have made Quid's! Grrrrr!
Very good place for any event. Good parking and in the middle of the city. Very good priced accommodation near by and very good facilities.
Plenty. For the kids grandkids to do not many toilets I Guess I Just have to wait all day! Many good photos of the little ones with the farm animals all staff very Friendly will not need to definitely be back
We attended the Brisbane Dinosaur Festival at the Exhibition Grounds. It was an extremely hot day, so I was grateful for the shaded areas that were available. Parking was available close by.
An iconic Brisbane institution the RNA show grounds, or Brisbane Exhibition Grounds. From the Ekka to Oktoberfest there are so many things happening here all year. Easy access to public transport and some parking options around. Some areas could do with a facelift and better signage but overall has the space near the city to accommodate large exhibitions and other such events.
Always love the Ekka.the showgrounds and buildings have changed so much over the years however, this is a positive.modern vibe!
Centrally located Venue, it’s ease of access will greatly benefit from exhibition station being open year round.
Not enough entertainment for kids, more for adults. Be prepared to pay high prices at not only the food stalls, but also at Market stalls. My kids were terribly bored within 10 minutes, it was torture!
Whether it's the Ekka, a concert or an exhibition, the showgrounds has plenty to offer. Lots of parking, close to train and bus stops and easy to get around.
Went to see caravan show - show was good but next time will bring my own food. Drinks and food were disgusting and expenses. Also don't understand why I have to pay to see merchandise I want to buy - money grabbing!
Went to oktoberfest, it was pretty fun, only two thrilling rides though.show ground is a decent size, ive only been here once for oktoberfest so i haven’t really seen it bare or anything.
I don't know if it's the range of stalls and rides or if it's the pumping atmosphere of the place itself, but the Ekka for me has always been a magical experience. It's top of my list, every August. Enjoy!
Public transport Via the train is always your best option for coming here. They've reduced the footprint of the exhibition grounds in ordee to fit in more apartments and commercial accommodation so its not such a day out on your feet anymore, but i must say the events here now seem rather 'smushed' indoors and with that so do the crowds. You can see the discomfort in people's faces. You can see the logic in the change, but where is the 'Queensland' in it?
It misses the Air & the Light, it's not as though it rains here anymore.
