Brisbane ACT Centre reviews
28 Dr Purssey is a very supportive Psychiatrist. My son was a victim of an evil drug-thuggish -ludicrously - labelled -Victorian -mentally- unhealthy - sick as- system. As a Catholic I believe in prayer alone heals a troubled soul. While Rob was more of an evolutionist I rank him as rare and clearly one of Australia’s good guys!
If you’re considering this practice, think again. It is terrible - unprofessional from the moment you walk in - where it really begins to get bad is once the consultation starts. I will leave it at that as I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable elaborating, don’t do it and look elsewhere.
My recent experience with Dr Purssey was very pleasant and I wish I could see him earlier. His professionalism and expertise in his field were great treasure to the public who ever gets down and depressed. He and his team were very efficient and effective in communication and explanation.
He assisted me to have better control of my mind to subsequently treat the anxiety etc in an effective method with no any side effects that you would normally get from proscribed medication by introducing me to the ACT. I will definitely keep working on the skills and get into the Acceptance Commitment Therapy deeper, then ultimately to be fully comprehended and be able to prevent mental health issues from happening again in the future. Every one will have down time and if you leave it over a long term, it will become depression, so knowing and be able to use ACT is really helpful for life time for living the life.
Definitely recommended to anyone who are experiencing hardship and depressed, get in contact with Dr Purssey and he will help you to get out of the darkness.
Rob Pursey from the ACT Centre has assisted our family over the past 5 months. His insight, support and education have had a profound impact. I recommend Rob Purrsey highly, particularly when working with young people.
I will never go to this place again, I thought seeing dr rob purssey would've helped me with my depression and my adhd. He would sit you down, show you YouTube videos and just talking to make up time, he wasn't even interested in fixing up my medication, when I could finally talk i asked him if he could write my important scripts up that I needed, and he said "sorry im not doing that you should've asked at the start of the session I have important patients waiting" over $350 just to see someone talk just to take up time. Sorry guys if I could give 0 stars i would. All up just money hungry and don't really care about their clients.
I was extremely pleased with the assistance and Services provided. I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable in my surroundings which greatly helped me during my diagnosis.
Thank you ACT centre
Dr Purssey and the Brisbane ACT center are professional courteous and provide an amazing personal service.
Highly recoomend
My time with Rob has been the most life changing part of my mental health journey thus far. My commitment to the journey is obviously the most important part of managing ones mental health. Rob's expertise along with my commitment are working wonders. Add to this that the team at the Brisbane ACT Centre always help to complete the wonderful process that is. If you are truly committed to listening, learning and adopting the changes to make a difference to your mental health, then the Brisbane ACT Centre is the place to go.
Dr Rob purssey was awful. Treated me as though I was a child - eg. "This is how we feel when we feel anxious" (shows cartoon picture of anxious) "and this is how we feel when we are happy" (shows cartoon picture of happy). I'm 21.
Refused to do the only thing I asked, which was to receive, or work on receiving a diagnosis.
Would not listen when I tried to explain new difficult symptoms I have been having - instead dismissed them and said we all feel anxious sometimes.
Filled up most of the time by putting on YouTube videos and promoting me to buy courses or books which he had a part in writing.
Do not go here.
I have been seeking Dr. Rob Purssey's help for 3 years; he is always supportive and he introduced me to A. C. T.and its founder Dr. S. Hayes.
Rob Purssey is amazing and I recommend him highly to anyone looking for a qualified psychiatrist and A. C. T.therapist who genuinely cares about good outcomes.
Thank you Dr. Rob
Dr Rob Purssey is already full of knowledge but I love that he is eager to learn more about YOU and despite his speciality in psychiatry he shows an interest in other areas of health that impacts mental health and works holistically with his patients to achieve the best outcome. Rob gives me confidence in myself and my ability to learn skills that will make my life more enriched and meaningful. Rob takes his work seriously but also has a sense of humour. Rob genuinely is passionate about helping others. I highly recommend Dr Rob Purssey and ACT.
Dr Rob Purssey is highly skilled practitioner of Acceptance Commitment Therapy and is well respected for his expert knowledge of psychopharmacology. He is focused in helping clients change for the better. Strongly recommended as a therapist who can teach clients the skills needed to heal and grow.
It was a pleasure working alongside Rob and the team as one of the psychologists at the Brisbane ACT Centre. Each practitioner I met was professional, passionate and definitely 'walking the talk'. I would recommend the Brisbane ACT Centre to anyone wanting a fresh, empowering perspective to meet the challenges of their life.
Myself and my sister have diagnosed mental illnesses, bipolar type 1 and OCD.we have been having ACT therapy with Doctor Rob Purssey for about 6 months now. Both of us have noticed a MAJOR reduction in our level of anxiety, more focused, clearer thought processes, able to concentrate easier.generally overall we feel better about ourselves and who we are.this has made our relationships healthier.thanks xxx we HIGHLY recommend this therapy with Doctor Rob.
I was recommend to Dr Purssey at the Brisbane ACT Center. The first thing he did was start weening me of drugs which has changed my life. He makes the whole process interesting and entertaining. I would recommend him to any one with PTSD or Complex PTSD.
A psychiatrist who knows his stuff very well. Not the cuddly bear type, very factual and straight forward. His knowledge of medications and how they work in the body are second to none. Has been extremely helpful.
Avoid at all costs; Very unprofessional, they will tell you what you want to hear.some of the worst mental health professionals, you can do better.
Rob is a fantastic professional, very respected in his field, and is terrific at guiding you through the highly effective and evidence-based ACT approach to mindful experience. I’ve personally found this useful in managing stress, and in getting a whole new outlook on life. I couldn’t recommend Rob more highly.
I made contact on 5th with a simple enquiry regarding bulk billing. Secretary said she would speak to two doctors and get back to me. I rang back on the 8th, secretary said she spoke to one Dr and would speak to other on Friday. Rang on Monday 12th, receptionist said Fri people left no notes for her. She said she would sent an email to Tunteeya and wait to hear back. Now it's the 18th and I've just heard from the secretary saying that the two doctors would not bulk bill. Nothing was mentioned about my other question regarding a possible reduction in the Medicare gap fee. The secretary said "I suppose you've already booked with someone else by now". I've been in a desperate state since the 5th and expected a timely response to my simple enquiries. That's very poor when u are dealing with mental health. Makes me think that people's well being is not a priority at this practice. Don't waste your time here. There are lots of professional practices who will answer simple enquiries promptly.
Rob is an excellent psychiatrist. He takes the time to really get to know you to provide the most effective strategies and resources. He's truly passionate about helping others and it shows. Many thanks.
