The sunset cruise activity was very good right from the get go at the reveption to pick up the tickets. Captain Phil, and the crew (Bella & Mitch) made sure we were comfortable and had a safe tour. They took photos of fellow passangers and the kids have a go at the wheel when it was safe to do so under the watchful eye of Captain Phil, it made the childten feel special as it was not something the children can get to do evrrytime they are on a boat. Thanks team!

Easy to book online and recommended as there tours fill up quickly especially weekends and holidays, They also include an optional free pick up and drop off shuttle bus. This was a much better option than trying to find a park at the marina. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went on Spirit and had a great experience. There was ample seating inside, outside, shaded or in the sun.
The commentary was informative and just the right amount talking about Hervey Bay, Kgara and the whales.
Morning tea was generous and varied with mini muffins, biscuits, fruit cake or cheese dip and crakers pk. Tea, coffee, water or cordial was offered but difficult to drink due to the swell.
We saw numerous pods of whales including mother and calf, young males and pods trying to breed. Some were willing to linger near the boat, just as inquisitive as we were. But others shied away and the boat was quietly maneuvered into place so we intersected with the pods progress on their terms and we got to see tail slaps, head lunges and bubble curtains by the males trying to impress the females.
We saw two rare whales one mottled black and white and one with white fins, both stood out in the water.
We were fortunate that the wind had died down the morning we went but even then I would recommend wearing sunscreen and long sleeves as hats are difficult to wear and sun and windburn affected everyone.
The whale watching experience is both informative and humbling. We were told there was over 200 whales in the bay that day, the same total number of whales in 1980. Since banning whaling their numbers have steadily increased and now these gentle giants are hunted with cameras instead.
You will need a power bank or extra battery for your camera to be able to take all the photo opportunities you get on this adventure and we will definitely book another tour next time we are in the area.

Went whale watching today in our own boat. Heard the Boat Club Whale Watch boat refer to us as blowflys over the speaker system. We have as much right to be there as your boat does. We stuck to the rules. You need to change your commentary.

Fantastic 4 hour cruise, fun and exciting, knowledgeable tour guides and would highly recommended for anyone visiting the Hervey Bay Area.
The boat consist of 2 levels, upper deck with outside seating with 360 degrees views. The lower level has fronts/back of boat seating and inside with a Bar/Kiosk area with amenities.
While on the cruise you have an opportunity to seat in the BOOM-NET that lowers down to the water from the side of the boat as you slowly cruise along.
Great views on bird life, dolphins and dingos on the Fraser Island coastline. Didn’t see any whales as it was the wrong time of year but the cruise was informative about the history of Hervey Bay, Fraser Island and its surrounding areas.
Only downside was light refreshments provided was only tea and coffee.
Big thanks to captain Phil and the crew for an insightful and pleasant cruise.

Wow wow wow.cruising on this boat is incredible. There's a BOOM-NET that lowers down from the side of the boat as the slowly cruise along the shores of Fraser Island. There were dolphins following this boat, someone spotted turtles. We all saw the curious dingo who was watching us from the island.

You can also use the upper deck to spot dolphins, some people chilled with a wine up there just taking it all in. The views are spectacular. Some people had their Titanic moment posing for a pic at the front of the boat.

This is the only boat with a side net that let us watch where we were going plus you can even buy a beer on board and take it into the net with you.

The captain is so knowledgeable and he and the crew are involved in protecting and recording the dolphins and whales in the area to help the conservationists.

I never knew these islands had such an amazing history. Yes Fraser or K'Gari Island is truly a magical place. This was big fun!

Well done Boat Club and thanks heaps to Capt Phil & your friendly crew.

We went on a tour today and it was great. The hosts were Damian and Katie who were lovely. I was disappointed that the morning tea was just packet biscuits given that it here were enough of us to generate an income that could have included a decent cake. Also no gluten free option. Would have liked a little more commentary as well. Definitely will be back for the whale watch cruise later in the year. Thanks

Enjoyable day. Weather was not great for spotting animals. We saw one dolphin. The kiosk could have a bigger range but you're only out there for 3 hrs so I guess it's okay. They offer free tea and coffee and biscuits. My visitors loved getting out in the boom net, it made the trip.

Great value for money on the Sunset Cruise. Captain and first mate, Katie were very welcoming. Boarded the boat and received a bubbly then a few nibbles during the cruise. We were delighted to be taken across to a remote part of Fraser Island. The beach was pristine. The catamaran was spacious and plenty of areas to view from. Totally recommend.

Captain Phil and his amazing team of helpers gave us a most enjoyable afternoon looking for migrating whales. With high winds and rough seas, the morning cruise had been cancelled. We had been kept apprised of our bookings and when we were told it would still go ahead, we were advised to take precautions should we suffer from motion sickness.
That being said, not once did we feel that our safety was in jeopardy. Phil let us know that both the winds and the tides had changed, and he was confident that while rough, our journey would be safe. He also let us know that should he have to cut things short, we would be given a ticket for a future date. We were very happy with that compromise.
The boat was not crowded, we had ample room to move about the decks. A detailed safety brief was given before we exited the marina. Captain Phil kept us informed of our locations, along with a lot of other tidbits about our surrounds. Keeping us close to the sheltered waters, our trip out was most definitely not as bumpy as we thought it would be.
Phil was obviously very experienced, knowing exactly where we would be able to locate whale pods. We were fortunate to come across a number of calves with their escorts (mums and dads!). While we were observing these magnificent creatures, we were given detailed information about their habits, displays and their biology. The kids were thoroughly entertained by the antics of these amazing mammals, and learned so much from the commentary of the staff.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would have no hesitations in recommending Boat Club adventure Cruises to others. I know we will definitely use them again! Many thanks!

Amazing trip, friendly staff, great time! Capitain Phil and its crew are super experienced and could take us to the right spots to see the whales. We can see they are really passionate about the beautiful marine fauna we have around and very considerate and respectful to the environment. I highly recommend this cruise!
