Big Roddy's Rippin' Rib Shack

This place is great if you love ribs and traditional southern food. It could use a clean as it's always sticky when I sit down and they always shove us in the back corner where it's hot AF but the food makes up for all of that. Really lovely work with their ribs and loaded fries. Compared to other places in Brisbane this place does have the best traditional ribs at a great price. The corn bread is the best I've had (my wife says second best.). Some other places try and be too fancy with their poppers but here they are amazing Actual peppers stuffed with cheese and they are huge! Also the best in town I think. Do yourself a favour and try them out.

Thanks to all the staff but specially to Mabell and Isabella. They were super friendly with me and my family. Thanks to kitchen staff for that amazing and tasty food.

Great restaurant with awesome atmosphere, food was excellent. Sent me straight home for a meat induced nap. Definitely be back again.

Food was amazing definitely top 2 burger places in brisbane and the prices are cheap came because of the 10$ wednesday chicken burger deal and it was soo good 10/10 would definitely come here regularly

We are here for a family outing and found this American restaurant. The food was delicious. Love the setup.

The ribs was really good and flavorful and tender more meat a bit pricey, but I think you’re paying for what it’s worth. We also tried the sweet potato chips and we loved it. Although the wings is not to our preference, but it was a great flavor as well.

Price wise, it was reasonable for the food serving and the flavor. They also have great selection of drinks you can pair up with the food.

One of the most flavorful restaurant I’ve tried in South Brisbane. You should come try it.

Tried the pork rib buttons with chilli fries and garlic buttered greens. The spicy bbq sauce was spicy enough, though the original and smokey was pretty good too. You can try the different sauces when dining in. A bit smokey inside so don’t wear your best clothes lol. Overall, good food and service.

It's like I just died and went to cheeseburger heaven. The big roddy style chicken burger will also take you to chicken nirvana and beyond.

Best ribs I’ve had outside of the US. They were so spectacular. Great value for money too. Also, the corn bread was the best I’ve had outside of the US. The butter it came with was so delicious that we took it home with the leftover cornbread. Restaurant has a nice feel to it and the location is pretty good. 100% recommend. I’ll definitely be coming back.

As usual for any Ribs in Australia the ribs were far too thin and not a full rack, Buffalo wings were also very dry and all heat and no flavour unfortunately.
Every rib and BBQ restaurant in Australia who are selling themselves as being American needs to go to the USA and do some research

Food was good, mac and cheese was great. Nice small cosy place with beers. Good without being amazing, also parking is a nightmare, no fault of the restaurant just a busy popular area.

We went at 5.30pm on a Saturday night and were seated in the corner booth with our 1 year old. The wait staff offered to bring a high chair but the way this table is fitted into the corner would have made it impossible to enter or exit the booth so we just sat him in between us.

Pork ribs were fall off the bone and had good flavour, corn side was a bit bland and dry. The jalapeño poppers were ok and the buffalo wings were way hotter than most (I'd say twice that of franks hot wing sauce) so make sure you save them until the end so your tasebuds aren't ruined for everything else. We would have loved to order the Mac and cheese balls for our little one but they were sold out.

Considering the reviews of this place, we were pretty disappointed. I'll brace for the owners reply!

It was okay, the meat is pulled but somehow dry. It was covered in bbq sauce but the texture was a bit rough. Staff were lovely though.

The two burgers were good.
The ribs were very greasy fatty and tasted a bit rancid
The chips were over cooked, dry and too salty
Might have been a better experience dining in, but also very smokey!

Food is good and staffs are friendly. Ordered half rack pork and the meat is so tender. Fall apart from the bone. Condiments are self service so you can try out other flavour of the bbq sauce even though you can only pick one in your order. Also love the coleslaw is very light on the dressing so it’s very refreshing to go with the saucy ribs.
If you are solo like me, ribs with 1 side is enough. Portion is very generous. Don’t wanna waste food so finished all of them anyway: P

Customer service was great. The food was awesome chips were well seasoned. Cheese burger was very delicious. The ribs were good! But it didn't have enough sauce was only partially marinated maybe only ours was?

We didn't enjoy the music at all playing out loud in the restaurant with tons of swearing and explicit lyrics which was inappropriate as I took my son there and some other kids were present.

Came in yesterday for lunch and was extremely impressed. The service was great - the lady who served us was fantastic. Food is so good. We had the poutine, pork ribs and a brisket burger. Portions are so big and delicious. Will definitely be back.
