Bamboo Down Under Retail Garden Centre reviews
41Ive been a visitor to Bamboo Down Under for several years now and its definitely one of my go-to nurseries when Im looking for something special. Sometimes I just go there when I need a little peace and tranquility in my life and walking through the beautiful bamboo gardens certainly gives me this.
Always amazing service and the plants and prices are incredible! The bamboo mazes are just stunning. Highly recommend!
Loved the nursery and the experience but 3 expensive plants I bought are so badly root-bound. I doubt any of the plants I invested in will survive. Check your plants before purchase!
As complete gardening novices, having friendly advice and recommendations from the staff made it easier to pick what plants would suit our garden and how to look after them. We will definitely return for more in the near future. Thank you so much.
What wonderful nursery it has become! Plant variety and helpful service are second to none. Well worth a first visit and you’ll be back again. Great value for money.
Great layout, with a terrific selection of Bamboo and plants, friendly and knowledgeable staff, definitely worth the trip.
My partner bought many plants to grow her passion for plants! The staff were very lovely and all the plants looked beautiful, it was hard to decide which ones to bring home and not buy them all.
Thank you!
This place opened up my love for plants!
the bamboo gardens were stunning and I loved how there were so many nice plants to pick from! My Mum and and I had a splendid time there and came home with a car full of plants!
Thank you so much, will sure to be back to get more!
I don't normally leave reviews, but after reading the previous one I felt like I had to. I visit Bamboo Down Under regularly and believe me the plants are definitely not diseased and pest ridden. For someone to leave a review like that is awful and untrue. There is a wonderful and great variety of plants. The service is always warm and friendly. I would recommend this nursery to anyone. I'll be back, that's for sure.
Heard on the radio and saw on Facebook- sausage sizzle and booked 5 tickets big sale etc. Rocked up and couldn't even purchase sausages at 2pm, one other car there. Half the plants are diseased and dying. They said they stocked rare plants- they do not.
Disappointing, we went to spectrum plants instead. Owner was rude. Don't know why we had to book tickets? LOL
Beautiful place to chill with family and friends, the owner of the shop was very helpful as well.
Always a great array of plants and expert service from the friendly staff.
Huge boxing day sale now on, so if your looking to refresh your garden get on down to Bamboo down under.
Amazing place. Great service and knowledge. Very happy with our purchase. A lovely spot to take the kids for the maze and bamboo forest.
Well worth a visit to walk around, they should open a cafe or something to make it a destination.
Amazing service & beautiful plants and pots.
The team were professional and delivered all 27 items free of charge and perfectly on time.
Will definitely shop there once again
I bought 3 bamboo pots 14 months ago, $165 each, and they are not happy where I put them, two lovely guys spoke to me at length from Bamboo Down Under about the reasons for their performance, and offered to exchange them for a different species of bamboo that can tolerate shade, see how we go with the new variety, but can't fault the service received so far
Love coming here to explore and bring friends along too.really enjoyed the bamboo maze and the things you can make with bamboo! We definitely be back again!
Often people think bamboo is invasive but I purchased about 18 varieties ranging from $30 to $130 per pot and I imagine I'll be dead before I ever see a 3 metre footprint occur.
Like any other plant.some die, some only survive and some actually thrive regardless what you do.
My bougainvilleas that I planted years later have done much better! Just saying.
Great service/ knowledge for plants. I had a hard time choosing a plant as they offer huge variety of plants.
Interacted over email asking for information and advice. I had emailed a few places, but Gary was the one who gave actual advice and guidance and really answered my questions. I was worried that the costs would be too great when factoring in shipping from Qld to Vic, but when I compared it to the few local nurseries stocking the same kind of bamboo at the same height, Bamboo Down Under was still cheaper even with freight included. Their service was truly spectacular. The bamboo I received were beautiful. I have no hesitation in recommending these guys and will definitely be shopping from them again when I expand my bamboo collection, and would honestly be reluctant to buy bamboo from anywhere else.
