AV Digitech reviews
23Super helpful in resolving some intermittent issues with my Denon amp. Took a couple of trips, but it's all sorted now, and the team were super friendly and helpful trying to fix the issue which was particularly tough as given the intermittent nature they could not replicate it
Dave was happy to talk through issues and provide advice before I committed to either a repair or a purchase. The team are very easy to deal with. When Dave installed a new AV Receiver in my media room, he went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with everything before leaving. Thanks Dave.
Highly recommend this place.
I had an issue with my jbl soundbar and got it repaired without any further issues.
And the technician was very helpful to resolve my issues regarding the bluetooth connectivity of the soundbar.
Thanks for the great service
I have dealt with David on a couple of occasions. Several years ago I took in a Jensen Amp which had stopped working. David took a look at it and said that it was a great quality amp and certainly worth fixing. He did a great job and I still have it years later. I recently dropped off another piece of equipment. David was prompt in trying to diagnose however although it was top of the range at the time the diagnostics weren't showing any information and after ringing around was unable to source the parts which I thought might be the case. David's service and installs are excellent!
Paid for a quote to repair a modern stereo integrated amplifier with missing channel. Before I even paid for the quote, the bloke is trying to sell me a Yamaha amp (bad sign). Received a call 2 weeks later with an exorbitant quote to repair and decided to pull the pin and pick it back up. Turns out, they blew the microprocessor that switches the protection relay. So instead of 1 damaged channel, I had no channels and a dead amplifier. AVOID any shop, that claims to repair hi-fi equipment that is also a sales centre. Lesson learnt! I see years after I made this review this joker is still putting out fires. Had a good laugh when dogey tech says 25 year old equipment is unserviceable. This guy fixes low hanging fruit for a good review and and hard, he steals your money. 5 out 5 solid punches in the head, from my 45 yo marantz 1060, I restored.
I had a pretty poor experience over the phone unfortunately. I rang up to get a rough quote for a subwoofer repair (replace internal amplifier for a Klipsch SW-350). Was told it would be $88 just to drop it off and they aren't able to provide an estimate for how much the part would be (and can't even look up the price? What kind of repair business is this?) I think the admin officer was half asleep and just didn't really care about anything. I was really surprised at the poor service, but 2 stars because at least they answered the phone.
WORST SERVICE EVER. Discarded my cassette deck without asking, ruined my television without any report and say they worked on my amp but with no explanation of the fault. THIS IS WHY THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY FIRST - TO RIP YOU OFF.i basically paid they $270 so they could turn my equipment on and off and say its not working.that's sure not like the old days. KEEP AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDS
Has consistently performed above and.beyond with every interaction. Has come to fix and install multiple items over the years in the theatre system. Has often helped trouble shoot problems where needed
Took my Klipsch TT in for a sound quality issue under warranty. The staff are very helpful and freindly and nothing is too much trouble. Great job guys and keep up the great work ️
AV Digitech diagnosed the fault, sourced parts, and repaired my damaged NAD amplifier. Lisa and David were pleasant to deal with, and got the job done. There was a delay on parts (due to the pandemic), however I would hands down recommend AV Digitech for your Hi- Fi repair, sales and home installation. Thanks guys top stuff.
David (manager) was very knowledgeable and helpful. He listened to what my need was and gave me a few options to consider.
My Bose Soundtouch 30 was fried by a thunderstorm. I bought a Denon Home 350 to replace it. The sound is superb. Thanks a lot.
Would highly recommend.
I have mixed emotions about these guys, hence my 3 stars.yes, they did a good job fixing my issue, but once we had a mix up due to a fault which had nothing to do with either
Of us, I tried countless times to clarify the situation but they not only plainly refused answer my calls, but didn't return any of them either.disappointed
AV Dodgytech is a better name!
I took two pieces of equipment into this shop for repair and took two still faulty pieces of equipment home supposedly fixed.
My pre amp had a 12Volt trigger out issue where it was constantly outputting even when turned off, after I picked up and got home I found the issue had not been fixed, I rang the shop and was told that it tested OK and was doing everything it should even when the selector switch was changed. That selector switch is for the 12volt input trigger. Just drop it back in if you're going past I'll dig the circuit up and have another look, no apology, no nothing.
I checked the job card and 12 output was written down?
Second item was a pair of speakers that had developed a crackle, again I was told that there was nothing wrong with them after they were tested.
Got them home and the problem was still there, I took them to a mates place to try them on his system as he has identical speakers and the problem presented on his as well so that ruled out my system.
When I went back to the shop and spoke to the owner he seemed surprised that they were still faulty as he had "tested them" he then offered to have a second look at both pieces of equipment again.
At this stage I declined his offer and asked for a refund as I had lost faith in his ability to fix my gear, he replied that it was not the shops policy to give refunds and to bring the gear back in, I again declined and again asked for a refund at which point he become agitated and told me that he had a workshop full of gear and doesn't work for love.hmmmm apparently it's OK for the customer to drive all over the place carrying gear that hasn't been fixed.
I told him no worries I'll take it up with fair trading and his response was to tell me to "F" off. Awesome
This owner is arrogent, aggressive and condescending when challenged about the lack of care or quality of his work, but when you have a 100% strike rate on gear not being fixed there should not be an issue giving a refund even as a courtesy.
I will add that the exchange was quite heated in the end, yes it was only $200 that I was out of pocket, but the fact is that I also spent several hours of my time running around for no result and I then had to go to another repairer and pay Additional fees on top.
Lesson learnt
David has been providing sales and service for my home theater for almost 10 years. During that time David has provided prompt, professional and friendly sales and service. I particularly appreciate David's expert knowledge of the products he sells and services. David is also able to translate tech speak into easily understandable options that I can choose. I have no hesitation in recommending David and he continues to be my "go to" home theater expert.
My Bose system stopped working after 8 years and I took it to AV Digitech to see if they could repair it. Unfortunately Bose no longer made the part required to repair the system. David did try to source it elsewhere. In the end up I ended up buying a new system that David recommended - a Marantz NR1609 and some Cabassa Surf speakers. David was great in explaining how I needed to set it up. I'm really happy with my new system. AV Digitech is great - very helpful and knowledgeable.
I dropped a speaker in for a warranty repair at AV Digitech. My B&W CM6 S2 speaker had lost high frequency driver. My speaker was repaired as soon as the parts became available. Great service and very knowledgeable with their products. Whilst I was their I had a listen to some other speakers and equipment in their showroom. They have some very nice equipment available for sale. Thanks again. Peter.
My Canton subwoofer was not playing bass so I took it to AV Digitech to be repaired (after getting verbal recommendation from a friend). David was successful in finding a compatible part that has fixed the problem and given me much joy in being able to listen to my CDs again. The service provided by David and his staff was highly professional, technically proficient, courteous and informative. I recommend this business highly and will be using them again if needed. I also now realise why his face was familiar as he came to my house many years ago to do some configuration work for my (at that time) teenage son's XBox. That experience was also extremely positive and the service efficient.
