Animal Welfare League Qld reviews
27 Adopted our new little baby Willow (rabbit). The staff were lovely and very patient when I brought my first fur baby in to meet Willow.
They are bonding quickly and are happy as ever!
Caring staff totally dedicated to the welfare of the animals in their care and well trained volunteers.
All proceeds are obtained from community donations only. Please give generously.
I went to visit the shelter last Friday, when a blonde lady started yelling at me from metres away to rudely ask me what I was doing. I was supporting someone with a disability to look at some animals. We were just walking around and were not doing anything wrong. I felt incredibly unwelcome. I do take clients to the RSPCA regularly to look at animals, and I never have staff yelling at me to try and figure out what I am doing, when the shelter is open to the public. There are no rules to suggest that I can’t visit the shelter during opening hours, however this is how this lady made me feel.
I have also volunteered at AWLQ in Stapylton years ago and the staff were less than appreciative and rude even when I was a volunteer. The staff at this shelter have put me off ever volunteering or adopting an animal from AWL in the future.
It is not hard to be warm and welcoming to people who are visiting the shelter.
I just adopted a beautiful fluffy black kitty from here yesterday and I'm so happy with the whole experience.
From the moment you walk through the door you're welcomed warmly, by the amazing staff. One of the worker bees even brings in her own adorable dog to work, so that he can help the newcomers develop social skills with other animals during their stay.
I didn't get to walk around and see the whole place, as the cat enclosure is stationed up in the main office, but from what I could see, the large property is decently kept, you can even hear the roosters going off the second you exit your car haha.
I brought with me some cat stuff to donate. I think it would be great if everyone was to bring a little something, even just a few small kmart toys, since I'm sure the more help the merrier. Rescue organisations like AWLQ are greatly dependant on peoples generosities and I have such great respect for all the work they do!
Thank you for bringing more joy into my home.
Keep up the amazing work <3 <3 <3
Great staff! Very knowledgeable and encouraging towards finding their furry friends a new home
Well loved dogs, cared for by amazing volunteers and staff members, all waiting for their forever homes. Hidden gem in Yatala.
We adopted our girl Pepper (Lola) last weekend. She is beautiful and exactly what we needed. She is settling in very well, even better than we were expecting! The process of adoption was well structured, friendly and pleasant.
I continue to return to this wonderful not for profit organisation in Daisy Hill this time. Ever since my dog was a pup I've managed to find an AWL somewhere close.to have my dog cared for and checked by the vets and nurses there. Just recently it was his yearly parvo etc Injection and general health check! Very quick and happy to have your participation in helping make the adventure a comfortable one for all! A good off leash park after for a good run and works out to be a perfect day with your furry friend. I will continue to keep taking him there.it's reliable, well priced, kind, helpful and clean.
Love it!
Excellent! Staff are wonderful and so helpful. They are doing an excellent job at the centre, caring for the animals and helping people.
Very annoyed with the staff, they were aware that I was adopting my first dog, and paired me with a dog that had been through several homes, and nobody wanted as she was troublesome and very poorly trained. The staff also provided me with all the wrong information, including the age, date of birth and behaviour of the dog. Quite displeased.
I can’t recommend this rescue.
We’ve adopted our last 3 dogs and were looking to give some more love after our old dog passed last year.
My family, my dog and I arrived to meet a couple of dogs to see if we could find any suitable. We were met by an abrasive and rude employee, but we ignored that. The other employees were fantastic, I have to say that.
I made it known to the employees that my dog was also a rescue. And what did that employee do with that information? The first employee asked if they could take the lead of my dog, I did this, handing over my trust and MY DOG’S trust to them. They then proceeded to YELL in the face of MY dog and point a finger in MY dogs face, causing him to cower back to us. You’re supposed to shelter and rehabilitate rescues! Such completely unprofessional and disgusting behaviour. I cannot believe this person works with rescue dogs.
Organized and staff are very passionate about finding the right owner and pet match. Kennels are kept clean and comfortable for the animals. They have dogs, chickens, ducks and more. They let you bring your dog and allow meet and greets with their dogs to test compatibility.
Adopt dont shop!
I've had quite a few dealings with animal refuges and foster organisations and, without doubt, AWLQ at Stapylton has been my best experience to date.
The animal containment areas are well thought out and as comfy and practical as is possible for the environment. The staff are all welcoming, understanding and accommodating, and I didn't strike any as 'hard-nosed', like I have at other organisations. Well done Stapylton! I can recommend this facility to anyone looking at pet adoption.
Very happy with our recent visit. We came away with the perfect pet for our family. She is healthy and passed my own vet's health check. I'll definitely be back when we decide to add another pet to our family.
Friendly and great assistance from staff. We adopted this beautiful girl who came to our home like we were always her family. Highly recommend visiting. Donate to AWL QLD if you can!
We were lucky enough to pick up a lovely Jack Russell/ Terrier puppy from here. The staff are totally dedicated to their animals and you can see they are well cared for.
If you’re after a puppy, it’s better to just keep phoning to ask if they have a litter come in, because they are usually all gone in a couple of days and don’t even hit the website. Same with cute older dogs.
The staff were very polite and friendly and we ended up with a 7 year old staffy cross and he is the best dog very obedient and is getting spoiled very pleased with him
The people were extremely friendly not may animals there when I went in a way that is a good thing
So lucky to have found our beautiful boy, he fits in and is part of our family. He gives the best cuddles, I just love him.
People committed to caring for these beautiful pooches, the place looks clean and tidy and the staff is friendly
