Algester Asia Mart reviews
30As far as I know, the cheapest Chinese grocery store in Brisbane. Avoid weekends if possible, it is usually very busy during weekends.
Can be super crowded in the weekend, great selection of food from different countries and reasonable price.
Generally cheaper price for most of the goods compared to other asian groceries around on the southside. Quite well stocked with lots of varieties. It is very packed and aisles are narrow but its not uncommon in asian groceries layout. It is a bit far off from where I stay but if I am around Sunnybank hills or Algester I will make a trip to this place.
Tucked away in suburbia, this Asian supermarket has a great variety of Asian groceries at prices seemingly cheaper than the usuals around Sunnybank.
It’s a great alternative for locals in the area!
Great Asian supermarket. Algester is a friendly suburb with lots of charm. The selection of ingredients here is outstanding, would recommend
Really friendly staff, helped me find something I had been looking for. They have a wide variety of unique items as was priced well
Good price and kind stuff, it's just a bit narrow between the shelf. Weekends are always super busy, week days are better if you don't like to wait for long.
Rice and Asian foods Hotpot ’s ingredients and natto are on sale. The cheapest or cheapest of the other Asian food markets. It's fresh and helpful
Great loads of Asian food you can't find in other Super markets very busy little shop great prices great food
A well stocked store packed with Asian goodies. They have an impressive selection of dry noodles and instant variety. A big plus is that they stock the elusive Sarawak Laksa paste. We tried it, and it's just like the real thing. I highly recommend it. Added bonus of friendly and efficient staff.
If this shop complies with WH&S Regulations then I will open a shop in my backyard as it would be safer.
Seriously, you have to see this shop to believe it.
Disgustingly narrow aisles, and poor safety exits.
Customers suit the shop and are rude like the staff. Dont shop there. The area has many other customer friendly shops. I would have given this no stars if possible. If you are not Asian they and their customers dont want you there.
Great place! Good prices and ample parking! The only reason for 4 out of 5 * is due to the huge checkout line! Be prepared to wait to leave with your goodies!
A lot of choices and good prices.
Big car park, friendly staff
Just little bit crowded when over 20 customers inside of the shop
Good Taiwanese grocery store with better than average price than others. Plenty of car parks and away from traffic.
Good range of products, not a lot in the way of fresh goods i;e vegetables and fruit but a massive range of frozen, chilled and dried goods.
They also do Taiwanese beer now so I'm there more often
Prices are indeed cheap but be aware a lot of the products sold here have a very short expiry life. 6 out of the 10 items i bought today had a between 3-6 weeks expire date (instant noodles, sauces and biscuits) Did not notice till I got home. Guessing thats why its cheap.
One of the best, clean and we'll organised Asian store I've been too. It's big and you can find everything you need, I go here to get my vegan meats and ingredients for my Asian meals. They are very helpful when you are looking for products, also with the translation of some of the ingredients of certain products, so the customer service is on point and very friendly too. Prices are fair compared to other places. This place I will highly recommend to anyone!
Plastic bag for fresh vegetables are free of charge. Extremely wet Tofu have to pay 10 cents for a plastic bag. Doesn't make sense right. Even I have plenty of recycle bag, I won't put a wet tofu into my bag, coz the water from the tofu a bit sting.
Very polite and welcoming staff. Groceries are stored and organised in a functional and tidy manner. A great place to buy your Asian food without the hustle and cramp
