AGKK - AUSTRALIAN GOJU KAI KARATE reviews
9 My daughters and I have been training with Sensei Bernie for about five years. The club is extremely family friendly and welcoming.
The karate taught is a traditional style with direct links to Japan. Members of the club visit Japan annually to train and be taught by the masters.
Sensei Bernie has been doing karate for over forty years and is very passionate about sharing his knowledge.
My son loves it. And he is beginning to understand respect, integrity, honesty are all time things. It marries well with iur famiky values.
Bernie conducts meditation and gentle exercises session. It is an excellent way to release stress and boost the energy. Bernie is very friendly and encourages people to have a fit and healthy lifestyle.
I've been training with Sensei Bernie at AGKK for approx.a year, along with my young family (7,8 and 10 respectively). It's been one of the best decisions we have made as a family.
I really enjoy the traditional aspect of Go Ju Kai and the club is very welcoming. Highly recommended.

I've been training with AGKK for a few months now and have found the experience to be quite enjoyable.
Bernie Sensei, the other senior instructors and students have all be very welcoming making the atmosphere quite friendly and relaxed.
The style taught is very traditional and has very close ties back to Japan.
I understand that Bernie and others frequently travel to Japan to further their training in the art.
This helps with keeping the knowledge "distilled" (for want of a better term). Fewer interpretations between the knowledge source and the end user ensures the messages don't get muddled or 'tweaked' by intermediaries.
I joined with a view to getting fitter. I certainly work up a sweat each session!
I was dubious about starting, as I'm on the wrong side of 40, however I'm glad I made the leap. It has to help with flexibility and general fitness. The self defense aspect is just an added bonus.
This AGKK location is an excellent place to get started for both adults and children. Sensei Bernie and his “team“ makes everyone feel very welcome and will teach you karate that is linked diectly with Japan along with a great life philosophy. I train at this location and my children will soon also be old enough to train alongside me.
I was looking for a club with a friendly, non-threatening feel. On my first night Bernie Sensei and the students made me feel so welcome, everyone was very friendly and I had so much fun – I was hooked! I think I have a bit more confidence.
I also get a thrill out of learning traditional Goju Ryu karate because it is something I would never have imagined myself doing. I hope to be still learning karate when I’m old and grey.
At Australian Goju Kai Karate is such a welcoming club – I admire, respect and like the teachers and the other students. I really look forward to coming to class – it’s so much fun and I love learning Goju Ryu karate which is directly linked to Japan.
