AGKK - AUSTRALIAN GOJU KAI KARATE reviews
21I'm very happy I decided to join. AGKK is a very friendly club where each student gets equal attention. There is a strong focus on self improvement and achieving your goals. It's great to feel you are making progress. I also find karate to be a great way to maintain inner balance and clarity. Thank you, sensei Bernie for passing your knowledge and experience. Look forward to my karate journey.
Hi Bernie Sensei, thanks for being a wonderful teacher to our 7 yo daughter. She really benefits from practising the art of Goju Kai with your wonderful dojo.
I always see her feel so confident (but tired) after her training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. She is excited about her first ever upcoming grading and also nervous… but I’ve told her that a grading is not just about doing a kata, but to show that one has self-discipline, kindness, respect and showing evidence of continuing practice.
Thank you again for your very personal care of the dojo members, parents and community at Albany Creek.
Oooss.

AGKK karate has been a great thing for my children. Sensei Berney is very professional and knowledgeable. He focuses not only on skills and techniques but also on character, discipline, respect and kindness. They have earned the respect of my family.
Traditional Japanese Karate. Teaching discipline, confidence and fitness. Suitable for all ages. My 8yr old loves it. Highly recommend.
Traditional Japanese Karate with a dedicated Sensei, teaching confidence, discipline, strength and self defense. Suitable for all ages. Highly recommend.
Bernie is one of the best instructors whom we have met. Our kids have recently joined and we are really happy about their classes and always looking forward to attend classes. Their self discipline has improved and they are really feeling confident and seeing life in a fruitful perspective. Thanks to the Bernie. Sharon is very organised ane professional in her services.
If you would like to strengthen your body and your mind, then this club is the place to go. Australian Goju Kai Karate teaches kids how to be respectful and to focus on defence rather than offence. For both adults and children, you will develop greater emotional stability, assertiveness and self-confidence.
The instructor, Bernie, has a teaching strategy where he is firm but fair. He creates a disciplined atmosphere where he will push you to do your best but with fun at the same time.
My 8 year old son and I started at the beginning of the year to give Karate a go. We had tried a few team sports for him but none took grip.
Karate has, and me also. Little mate is keen to get his kit on for Monday and Wednesday training with Sensei. Bernie surprised me with his ability to make a class work with such a wide range of age groups and levels with every session so far been different from the last. I have seen massive improvements from my son in his school work, reports and ability to focus.
I have been to many Karate school in QLD and NT. This school focuses on an authentic, healthy and sustained lifelong approach to Karate. Egos are left at the front door and all who enter become genuine students of Karate. The instructors are dedicated to the art and their students above all else.
I found Bernie to be an excellent self defence teacher for my teenage granddaughters. He was professional, respectful, and patient and his enthusiasm is contagious. He taught valuable skills, and boosted their self confidence. I would highly recommend.
Sensei Bernie teaches both the karate technique, and also philosophy. Very good with young children and helping them develop confidence and leadership skills.
My daughter has attended for the last 5 years,
to black belt. She has grown so much from this experience.
I highly recommend.
Have just started my karate journey with AGKK and am absolutely loving it. Everyone is so welcoming and make you feel comfortable even if you’re out of your comfort zone! Love these classes and can’t wait to see where they take me.
Inclusive, family friendly karate style. I've recently restarted my karate journey after some serious setbacks; the AGKK team have been totally supportive.
2 weeks in, and im already feeling better in mind and body.
We have recently started karate with AGKK Karate and are loving it! We have been welcomed with open arms and everyone is incredibly nice. Bernie, Sensei is a world of knowledge and it is portrait in every class. Looking forward to continuing our journey and encouraging our kids to join once they reach of age.
If you are wanting to learn Traditional Japanese Karate then this is the place to do it! Sensei Bernie is an excellent teacher.not only does he teach us traditional Japanese karate he also teaches us to believe in our selves and to have respect for our selves and others. When I first joined everyone was very welcoming and kind, we are like one big family!
Not only have I learnt how to defend myself, but I have also become a more confident and disciplined person. I have made many friends here, as everyone is so welcoming. Learning tradition Japanese karate is an experience I will take with me through every aspect of life. Sensei Bernie is an amazing teacher and is clearly dedicated to helping everyone he encounters.
Having trained in karate with the same club for over 16yrs it was a hard decision to leave. However, after making that decision the next thing was to find a new club/style. Having tried a couple of different styles I decided on AGKK.
I found everyone in the club to be welcoming and friendly with a passion to help each other, so much so that my wife also joined. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and happy to pass that knowledge on, giving lots of help and advice without being pushy. The classes are filled with technical information, including how body mechanics gives you an advantage over your opponent, put together in a manner that makes the class exciting and fun.
Traditional martial arts training in a fun and friendly manner. I would recommend this club to anyone who wishes to embark on their karate journey.

If you have an interest in studying martial arts I highly recommend trying AGKK Karate Club.
I walked through the doors of the Australian Goju Kai Karate Club 5 years ago and never left. Over the years not only did I develop my physical skills in terms of fitness and self defense skills but more importantly I developed my leadership abilities and a higher level of self confidence. These skills are priceless for kids in school and will serve them well as they enter the work force later in life.
One of the aspects of the martial arts I enjoy is learning and being a part of a culture of respect and humility that dates back thousands of years. During my time at the Goju Ryu Karate family, I've made many priceless memories and numerous life long friendships. The Australian Goju Kai Karate family helped shape me into the person I am today and who I will be tomorrow.
I've been training with AGKK at Taigum for a few months now and have found the experience to be quite enjoyable.
Bernie Sensei, the other senior instructors and students have all be very welcoming making the atmosphere quite friendly and relaxed.
The style taught is very traditional and has very close ties back to Japan.
I was dubious about starting, as I'm on the wrong side of 40, however I'm glad I made the leap. It has to help with flexibility and general fitness. The self defense aspect is just an added bonus.
