My mother's computer froze & she could not use it at all. A possible virus? After a few potentially exorbitant "quotes" from nerdy geeky guys, I called Mark at Affordable Computer Repairs. He explained the possible problem and sent David out that afternoon. 1hr later my mothers computer was up and running again. Wow, that's service.
I later received a follow up call from Mark explaining what David had done & reassuring us that her computer was free from virus & how to stop them in the future. Again fantastic service.

I have an old (2008) Acer with Vista that I never had any problems with till it recently suddenly shut down, & on reboot I couldn’t get back into Windows. Nor could I get past a black screen with an installation disk. I had a couple of reasons I was using it, one being to run a you beaut printer (that craps all over the new ones) that won’t run on Win 10, but I did expect I’d have to bite the bullet & ditch both.

I had already copied everything I wanted off the laptop but had some new current files from an attached microscope I’d not yet copied over. I spoke with a couple of places that said bring it in & I’ll take a look for $110 per hour but after reading the reviews for Affordable Computer Repairs I thought I’d ring them for advice.

Having had considerable experience with computers in my time I had a pretty good idea of what was what. Yep, both laptop & printer are candidates for the bin (️RIP my old faithfuls) but Mark gave me options to possibly access the laptop through an external monitor or copy the files I want off the hard drive.

It was really nice to get the kind of ‘altruistic’ service of days gone by rather than the ‘bring it in & spend money’ mentality of today. Thanks, Mark. If I have any problems with my current devices I know who I’ll call.

I visited because my computer was not turning on. The technician was very honest and called me the next morning saying that there was nothing wrong with the computer. He told me the problem could be due to too many things plugged in at one power socket. He did not charge anything for this.

I took my 1 year-old iMac that had performed like a dog from day 1 to Mark's workshop in Coorpooroo. Prior to that he had told me over the phone exactly how much it would cost to replace the Mac's HDD with an SSD, how soon it would be ready, and the resulting performance that I should expect. My iMac came back running like a dream and for the price of $525 for the new drive and labour. I think he gets a buzz out of helping people. Highly recommended.

Mark was excellent. I had an issue with my machine I needed sorted ASAP. He advised, tested and gave me realistic options for repair. Very responsive, professional and didn't even charge me for the diagnosis. I explored multiple alternatives and he was the only one who cared to even listen. Top notch. My laptop was murdered and brought it in to see if it could get resurrected. Mark was prompt, knowledgeable, professional, respectful and honest in the way that he dealt with my situation. He took the time to give me a lot of great advice and taught me a lot (I'm someone who has no idea about computers). I wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't had my computer looked at since I got it over 5 years ago.
Then one day it suddenly turned off and refused to boot.
I took my tower in to Mark and although he had found nothing faulty with the machine, I'm happy to report he got it working again.
Most businesses nowadays make you feel like they're in a hurry to tick and flick you out but Mark is very professional and it's easy to understand he has a real passion for his work and understanding your issues. He is also very upfront about options and will take the time to answer any questions you may have.

I was having stability issues with my custom Ryzen build. Mark was able to test my components to find the culprit! So happy I got the answer I was after. Great communication, quick turnaround and very affordable for the effort that was put in. After I replaced the faulty part, the PC is good as new again! Highly Recommend!

The impression I got in my interaction with Mark is that this company prioritises finding solutions for their clients' problems above all else, and in a timely manner! When I dropped off my damaged external hard drive today, he promised to assess and give me feedback as soon as he could. And sure enough he called back just after an hour later. In a very professional and courteous manner, he explained that the damage to my (very old) hard drive needed a specialized lab to save my data. And he recommended where I could get that kind of service, in fact by the time I arrived to pick it up, he had already made and printed out a list for me! As a client it's really great to be valued in such a manner. I highly recommend these guys!

I did not use this service but I did speak to them over the phone. I sent an enquiry weeks ago that was never responded to, and recently I decided to follow up and send another because I was very impressed with the reviews. I was asked to call, and on the phone I was greeted with the most condescending man I've had the displeasure of speaking to. It was very obvious that he was setting me up to overcharge me for a simple repair. Over the course of a 6 minute phone call, I only got to speak once at the very start. I was told that the simple repair I was expecting wouldn't cost too much, but I shouldn't be surprised if they open it up and find other things wrong with it that need replacing. It's a brand new laptop that needed a simple replacement. I have decided to use another service that has been nothing but polite and considerate throughout the whole process, unlike whoever I spoke to over the phone. I was even quoted cheaper for the replacement and they didn't try to convince a young female uni student to throw away hundreds of dollars on unnecessary repairs.

This is just after a simple email and phone call exchange. I cannot provide details on their service because I decided to find elsewhere, but I was definitely driven off after the first interaction.
