A Bridal Affair

Unfortunately there was not a great variety of dresses which meant the likelihood of finding a dress in the style I wanted was quite low. I did find one dress I did love, but unfortunately it was out of my budget (which is not A Bridal Affair's fault). The whole experience was mainly brought down based on how we were treated by the staff member, Debbie, who assisted us. I, as the bride, was almost completely ignored as the attendant did not want to stop chatting with my mum who struggled to politely redirect the conversation to the wedding dresses (the whole reason we were there). It was difficult to see how some of the dresses fit as many were too small or too large and the staff member did not have any clips or pins to hold the dresses in the correct spot. She also didn't offer to hold the dresses in for a couple seconds so I would be able to see what the dresses would actually look like on me if they were in my correct size. I was repeatedly told I was being picky or fussy for stating my broad preferences (A-line or ball gown skirt, no strapless looks and lace fabric) and was often (quite sharply) told to move my hands or stand differently for my mother to take a photo. I was quite disappointed with the whole experience and I'm glad I found some other more hospitable bridal shops to visit.

Debbie was very friendly and accommodating, helping me pick out a range of styles to see what I liked and listened to my feedback. She even suggested other stores to visit that suited my budget.

Had a really wonderful experience with Debbie, I had no idea what I wanted but after she asked a few question and she chose some options as to what would suits my body shape and the style of wedding. They all made us feel very welcome including my niece who even tried on a veil and tiara just for fun. I would highly recommend going here as your first stop their selection is amazing and the quality was on par with some of the more expensive store. Im very happy with my dress and I wouldn’t have picked it without their help.

We were in the area and thought we’d try our luck as a walk in. Straight away Cara was so welcoming and friendly! She took the time to understand what I was looking for and made me feel so comfortable. It was the best experience and I couldn’t recommend Cara more, she is just incredible! Debbie is incredible! Such a kind and warm person who made me feel so extremely comfortable. As soon as we met we starting chatting like we had been friends for years! I went with my mum and the 3 of us all got along like a house on fire! Debbie went above and beyond to help me find my dress. It was such a pleasant experience and I cannot recommend Debbie enough!

Brides to be please avoid A Bridal Affair.

Arrived to my appointment and was hardly greeted, they also did not check us in for our booking, nothing! I was asked once and very briefly what style, I had a few but only got the first description out and was told 'they are over there' and the young lady walked away. I walked around with my family and saw a few I liked but all in size 4-8 I asked if they had other sizes for me to try on and was told no 'we can order them in, you can try these sizes on. ' i'm at 12-14 how did the expect a 4- 8 to fit or allow me the chance to see what the dress would look like on me for my wedding? The young lady proceeded to say 'just leave it undone and you can get an idea'. Love they were not fitting over my head or thighs. The whole experience left us uncomfortable, my family had travelled up from NSW for this day and it was a waste of our time. I was able to try 3 on close to my size but nothing like the style I wanted, I was left humiliated and embarrassed and decided to leave and go back to the first store where we treated wonderfully and celebrated for shopping for a wedding dress, like you should be. A bridal Affair did not make us comfortable nor really care we were there. There was zero interest in what we were looking for other that one question, nothing about when the wedding was, theme, style nothing. It was not until I decided to leave did they then care enough to leave the desk and say something on our way out. Appalling service for a bride to be. After going to a few bridal shops around Brisbane with my daughter we decided to visited Bridal Affair. And what a marvellous idea that was. From the time we walked in the door we felt welcome even though they were busy with other customers time was made to assist us. Debbie was extremely helpful and gave us her full attention helping to point out styles that would suit my daughter. She tried on a few but didn’t make her final decision that day as she wanted to check out other stores but she definitely came across a dress that she loved and suited her. About 2 weeks later after seeing what else is out there and really not receiving the service she experienced from Debbie we returned to retry the dress she thought would be the one. And yes she said “Yes” to the dress. The dress arrived a couple of months later and looks wonderful and Debbie has given us names and numbers of the professional dressmakers that can shorten and slightly alter the dress to fit perfect in a few months time - she told us brides tend to change size slightly close to their wedding. This is truely a wonderful experience and Debbie is a wealth of knowledge and an assets to the business. Thank you. We really appreciate your efforts Debbie to make my daughters wedding dress a special one thus making her wedding day less stressful and hopefully perfect.

I had booked an appointment for a dress fitting at A Bridal Affair. It was the third shop I tried on at and I’m very glad I had already had two positive experiences because my experience at A Bridal Affair was horrible. I arrived 5- 10 minutes before my appointment and when I went in, I was informed that due to walk ins, there were no changing rooms and was welcome to look at the dresses. The lady then walked away. As I was early, I didn’t mind so much that she didn’t explain which section had which style of dresses or anything because I’d have time to spare. Unfortunately, the shop had next to no organisation and looking for dresses was incredibly overwhelming. I wasn’t able to get a changing room until 15 minutes after my appointment so I’m not certain why there is an appointment option because you don’t get priority over walk ins. The seating for the people who came with me was not laid out well; with each open of the curtain, they had to then stand in the way of other people searching for dresses. On the topic of having the dress on, there were NO CLIPS to pin the dresses back so my friend had to hold the dress and when the bridal shop lady took over that task (only assisted twice- was very absent), she stood right in the way of my guests. My friend also had to grab a platform from another room as there wasn’t one in both changing rooms. I felt so uncomfortable there. The one staff member appeared to have no knowledge about the dresses, simply kept insisting we take photos and was very unhelpful. The uncomfortable feeling was further made that way due to cameras being placed right outside the changing room (yes facing the other way but they appeared to be the swivel ones), so when I was looking in the mirror with the curtain closed, the camera is in full view (change room doesn’t go to the roof).
There was no wow factor at this shop at all.

Seems very busy on Saturdays. Lots of happy people leaving as we sit outside enjoying coffee from next door

My fiancé had such a wonderful experience with the lovely Cara! She was so helpful, supportive and generous with her time and suggestions. We really appreciate it. Thanks for making it such a wonderful experience Cara!

I called up mid-morning to try my luck for a short-notice appointment and Cara was super accommodating! She was super patient, made me feel beautiful and she definitely knew her stuff about dress and the industry in general.

I can’t wait to visit Cara and the dresses soon to try on more stunning show-stoppers!

Debbie was so amazing, as I went into the store without a booking and instead saying no please come back after u book an appointment, like I have experienced in the past, Debbie went out of her way to help both my maid of honour and myself find me my perfect dress, and after I found it Debbie catered everything in my budget. Debbie even helped my mum out with a deposit amount to fit in with her budget as well. Debbie I can not thank you enough for making my special day perfect.
