Worth taking the cruise. Saw lots of crocodiles and plenty of birds (white bellied sea eagle, heron, kingfisher etc). Staff was nice and entertaining, lots of knowledge!

A couple of months ago - Myself and my Wife went fishing with Yellow Waters Fishing Charters for a three hour morning session. To say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement. All up we caught several Barramundi up to about 75/80cm as well as a couple of Saratoga.
Our guide "Gecko" was most knowledgeable not only about fishing, but also about the local birdlife / wildlife etc. He was also fun, enthusiastic, and a pleasure to be out on the water with. My Wife was grinning all day about her very first Barra which was quite an achievement.
The charter is well run, well equipped and professional. The fishing gear well set up and top notch. As well as casting, we also spent some time trolling in order to maximise our chances of a catch.
For anyone keen on catching a fish or two in the territory, I can thoroughly recommend this charter. Thank you.

Great cruise in Kakadu! Knowledgable and funny staff made the trip! Few crocs and other amazing wildlife in the wetlands! A must do if you’re in the top end!

We did a dawn cruise. Our guide Dennis was knowledgeable and entertaining, with many personal insights into his indigenous upbringing. Lots of crocs and birds.

I did the sunrise cruise and it was just gorgeous! There were so many croc and I lost count of all the different bird species I encountered. Was worth every cent, and I was particularly impressed with how much the guide was able to share about the animals and landscape!

Absolutely loved our cruise with Dennis. He is very funny, but also informative and a natural storyteller. There were plenty of crocs out in the midday heat to keep us all on our toes. This is a must-do tour for all holidayers in the NT.

It's coming to the end of the wet season. Water levels still were high. It is called yellow water on the south alligator River because of the tannins leeching into the water. This is where the barramundi hide to catch their prey. There is 53 species of fish here. We saw egrets, magpie geese, dollar birds, whistling ducks and carrellas and more. It would have been nice to see a crocodile or two. A good job by the tour guide.

Incredible experience doing this sunrise cruise at the start of the dry season. A big shout out to our guide DENNIS - your knowledge and humour made this trip so memorable. Your stories will stay with us for a long time. Thanks so much again:)

This was a highlight of our stay - tour guide Dennis was a laugh and super knowledgeable about the area. Someone recommended we do the sunrise tour (6.45 am) which we did in wet season. Lots to see!

Our guide was amazing. We did a tour of 1.5h the 11 November 2021 and we had lots of explanation about the buffalos, wild pigs, birds, billabong and of course crocs. We were so lucky to find a croc tearing apart a buffalo!

We stayed the NYE night at Cooinda Lodge Kakadu and took the 6: 45 am Yellow Water Cruises. The cruise departure is conveniently located only less than 5 mins walk from our lodge. It was very pleasant and I was amazed by how much the water raised in the wet only within a few weeks of rain. Many people think Kakadu is best to visit in the dry but if you are looking for a different view of the Northern Territory outback, you should visit in the wet too. Our tour guide Wayne is knowledgeable of Indigenous history, landscape and he is hilarious! He makes the trip more enjoyable. Highly recommended. Thank you everyone at the Lodge and the Yellow Water cruise team. Happy New Year!

Fascinating to visit the Yellow Waters during the wet season, with the possibility to explore adventitious billabongs and gorgeous locations otherwise not navigable. Different colors and landscapes as well as different species of birds. Our tour guide Dennis has been a legend, with his soothing and expressive voice and priceless imitations of crocodile attacks! Do not miss it. Bobo maluk!

The wildlife certainly put a show in for us and you narrated it very well for us all.

Great place to get an overview of floodplains and billabongs. If you are doing a boat tour, the sunrise ones are a must for the best photos.

We just finished our sunset cruise with Lily (our tour guide) & Wayne (our bus driver) and we are BLOWN AWAY! We had an incredible 2 hours slowly cruising down the billabong with plenty of time spent watching and observing all of the beautiful wildlife. As a photographer and keen birder we were stoked at the care and time given for us to take as many images as we'd like. We saw brolga, jabiru, a great billed heron, azure kingfishers, white bellied sea eagles, snake neck darter, magpie geese, jacana, buffalo and more. Lily gave a fantastic description of the landscape, was super funny, personable, informative, and really knowledgeable and respectful of the country we were on. I am so pleased we came out, we will absolutely be back! Easy as a Darwin local to forget how close you are to such beautiful experiences and we are so glad Cooinda & the Yellow water cruise crew have reminded us. Would give you all 10/5 if I could!

Thank you Wayne for making 2021 Boxing day memorable one. Also it was a rainy day, the tour went well. We received good lessons from our tour guide about the history, birds, crocodiles and I will definitely keep in mind how to recognise male Jabiru from female one
