Wangi Falls reviews
34What a spot for a swim with a view. The waterfalls are still flowing strong in mid November and we were the only ones there on a Sunday arvo
Beautiful waterfall!
Thought there was some sort of a cafe on the map, but it was closed, no water coolers so I was dying from thirst. Views are beautiful though, there’s even wifi there when the entire park has no cell service.
Unfortunately, someone just got nibbled by a somersault.very touristy and therefore many visitors for a normal waterfall.
Awesome, we did the 1.6km loop all around the falls. Very nice, peaceful once you get away from the hoards of bats and people
Wangi Falls is worth a visit when in Litchfield National Park. You can see the falls from the carpark.
I would recommend walking just a little bit up the path on the right to the lookout but otherwise the rest of the walk isn't worth doing.
It's currently closed for swimming due to a crocodile sighting in January but may reopen soon. You can still walk around and get some good photos. Head up to Florence Falls if you want to go for a swim!
Quite a big open spring, very little shallow area and not alot of shade in the water. Able to swim up to the waterfall.
Cafe on site
This is by far the easiest to access and largest of the swimming areas. It has two falls feeding the one lake. It gets busy between 10 and 3 but it holds a crowd so you can go any time of the day. If you want it nearly to yourself go around 0830 or after 4 in the afternoon when the crowd starts to move on.
Beautiful! Can access easily for a swim and there is a walk through the rainforest right there too. There are so many bats in the trees through the walk as well. Definitely worth it
Lovely spot for a swim, but as it is the easiest spot to get down to and it is used by tour buses as their main swimming spot it gets very busy. Rated best of the waterfall/swimming holes, but much better option (if 130 odd stairs don't worry you) is Florence Falls as it is a much nicer spot and water is a lot clearer
Love this place still as amazing as I remember as a kid very busy but still great. Some fun jumping spots for the brave and stupid
Beautiful Falls. Unfortunately closed for swimming at present. Plenty of places to picnic, amenities, Cafe and even free WiFi. Camping area looked good.
Amazing place with walking trails, bbq facilities, undercover areas and viewing platforms of the fantastic falls
This is a beautiful setting. It's great to stand near the Falls and be cooled by the water spray. Very picturesque. Had a tasty lunch at the shop. Cold meat and salad and mangoe cheese cake to die for.
This is a easily accessible waterfall, as the viewing platform is only 500 metres from the carpark.
The park is well detour with barbecues, toilets, and a cafe. However when we were there the cafe was closed due to the lack of demand (COVID related)
We also did the treetops walk which is about 1km return. You have to go along a formed earth path, then up stairs to get to the top.
We stopped there as the walk is a loop, as further the track was closed due to flooding.
Great place on a warm NT day. Easy access, great swimming, excellent views of waterfalls in the Dry and even more superb in the Wet. Cafe for take away food and cold drinks.
Prettiest falls in Litchfield, definitely make the stop if you're here. Water wasn't open for swimming yet in early June due to crocs. It eventually opens up later in the dry season for swimming.
Fantastic place for a rest and look around. Unfortunately, swimming is not possible at the moment. But still a great place to stop and rest.
Wangi is the crown jewel of Litchfield with twin falls (if there’s enough water), cascading into the pool below which has been closed each of the three times I’ve visited because of crocs. There’s a hearty climb to the plateau above but make sure you’ve got enough water, the right shoes and you’re as sure footed as a mountain goat. There’s a cafe onsite with wifi access - best hot chips in the NT.
Fantastic. Wet season is best time to visit. All the falls and water ways are flowing. Unfortunately you can't swim at all of them but they are still great to see.
