Ubirr Art Site reviews
21This really is a truly incredible site. Only a one km loop walk but it will take you a good hour or so to really appreciate. We completed the walk twice, once on our own in the morning. The second time with the Ranger walk and talk that commences at the parking lot and rotates thru the three main sites with the completion leaving you enough time to find a spot to view the sunset on Nadob Lookout - the view is stunning and worth the 250 m climb to the peak. Overlooking the floodplains and the edge of Arnhem Land as the sun goes down will be one of your favourite moments in Kakadu.
A fantastic start on our Kakadu tour! Beautiful view from the lookout over the floodplain. Great trail, a nice little climb up, easy walk around the Aboriginal art.
Stunning pictures at sunset, and if you're lucky you'll spot some rock wallabies!
This place is my favourite spot on Kakadu. There is just something about it, something special. It's a must see and really should not be rushed.
Worth a visit. Great trail and loads of art. Nice little climb up to lookout over the floodplain.
Great walk alongside natural art galleries, explaining the Aboriginal heritage and stories behind each of the artworks. Some explanations for example around the age of some stone carvings or drawings, could be more precise. Come around the afternoon toward sunset, so you can climb to the outlook and have a great view on the lagoons wetlands when the sun settles. Really recommended. Remember, no alcohol allowed, since this is an aboriginal requirement, police were controlling alcohol consumption at the exit drive towards Arnhem Highway.
Absolutely magnificent place very calming and relaxing place 2 visit can't rate it highly enough
Did the Sunset tour with Celeste the Ranger who told us many stories at the various points of interest.
Then we went up to the lookout for a fabulous sunset
Extraordinary rock art up to 5000 years old and a view from the top offering breathtaking vistas. Not to be missed.
Such an amazing site. Very easy walk around the Aboriginal art. Stunning view of some of the Kakadu wetlands.
Want to learn about here and other areas in Kakadu, book a tour with me, Never Never Safari Tours. On our tours, because you see spots where Crocodile Dundee was filmed AND get dressed up as the actors and we'll take a photo of the exact location from a screenshot. FUN!
Nice place to visit in Kakadu. About 40 minutes driving from Ubiru. Nice rock art and also a nice lookout. Worth the trip.
Access and parking was great, local amenities provided. The art work is wonderful and its great to see how protected and respected they are. The walks are easy with a moderate climb to the top lookout for a beautiful sunset over the wetlands. Worth an hour to come check out if not only for the view.
Very interesting, beautiful surroundings. Do yourself a favour and join the guided walks - they really bring the place alive.
Not as good as other sites in the park. If your close by and interested in art, I'd recommend the tour of Injalak Hill which has plenty of terrific rock art and is an easy day trip from Jabiru.
Get there about 3: 30pm in winter as the light shows up the paintings better. Easy climb to sunset lookout. Superb.
This place is definitely worth a visit. Public access only allowed after 2pm but we got in at 8: 30 due to our tour company having a permit. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and bring good insight. There are information signs explaining the are. The sealed entry road crosses 2 creeks on the way in; there are water depth markers but best to check conditions before traveling. There is a big selection of rock art here at multiple locations. There is also a great view of the surrounding landscape from the top.
Takes a while to get here but it's well worth the drive. Beautiful views and some great history. It's a well maintained site with easy access. If you choose to do the view firm ubirr rock, it's a steep short climb that's worth it.
This is a must visit site in Kakadu. Best place to see the sunset. Allow enough time to explore the rock art before sunset. Leave yourself 1.5 hours to explore and walk to the top. The hike isn’t too challenging but small children might need assistance
Stunning and a must if you happen to adventure to nearby Oenpelli. A magical Aboriginal rock art site of very significant importance. Climbing through the sandstone crevasses and around boulders was not that difficult, as the excitement of what awaits you is so strong. Reasonably easy and the Guide was extremely helpful and informative. Take plenty of water as it may take up to half a day of amazing visual rock art sites to visit. There are many tucked away, up at this site. At the top was stunning views across to Oenpelli and Northern Australian landscapes at its best.
Stunning collection of aboriginal rock art located amidst cliffs and boulders. Great views from the top. Try to catch one of the free ranger talks about the art.
