Tropic of Capricorn reviews
20 Good spot for an overnight stay or just to stretch your legs, it's a bit close to the road for camping but still not too bad.
The rest stop also has some interesting information boards regarding the local area along with the Northern Territory in general.
Plus, like most good rest stops there's a couple of good photo opportunities.
Erfüllt definitiv seinen Zweck. Toiletten waren zu dreckig um sie zu benutzen. Es waren 5 weitere Camper dort, wir fühlten uns sicher. Blieben eine Nacht.
Stopped for a night rest, it is close to the road so you hear the traffic but it's that or risk driving on when tired & having an accident. Nice place
It's lovely that there's toilets, soap even. Not much water in the handbasin taps tho. There's rats & mice so bait in your vehicle if staying overnight is advisable.
Rest area itself was fine with enough space and reasonable toilets but constant coming and going of dodgy looking vehicles left me feeling unsafe. I wouldn't stay here again.
Good enough reason to stop over: 24 hour camping permitted and toilet facilities are also available
A good overnight place to stay. Toilets adequate but could use some maintenance on the locks etc.
Roadside stop north of Alice Springs. Worth a look. I also crossed the one on the coast of Western Australia.
Nice that there's a monument and a carpark here, but it would be nicer if it were a bit more imaginative and had some information about the Tropic of Capricorn.
Good place for an overnight stay with the caravan! Hardly any trucks passing during the evening and night on this Highway and plenty of other campers here.
What a great night stop over. When we arrived here at 1pm it was only us and then it flooded in with so many people (15-20 cars, caravans and vans in total) towards the end of the night. Make sure you get here early if you want a spot. There are fire pits, drop toilets and tables. Beautiful sunset here also! Phone coverage was super patchy!

Quite special to do an overnight at such a particular spot. Toilets are clean. Hardly any traffic during the night. Very safe.
There's a toilet here a billboard with what it means and an aboriginal one about history.
No shade here no phone reception there was a dish you could put your pH in and boost the signal but it's been stolen.think there is a water tank that says not suitable for drinking.ramp to dunny for wheelie people.
Really this is just a token stop there is nothing worth doing apart from an emergency dump.can access from both sides of Stuart hwy.
Was excited to be here. But the marker turned out to be underwhelming. It is also a few campsite with a long drop toilet.
Was easy to find love the Latitude and Latitude lines just north of Alice Springs 23. SOUTH 133.east. Two favourite psalms. Love the sheep pic on the monument to.
Nice rest area. Free camping area available with basic bbq, water supply (not suitable for drinking), clean toilets, information boards.
Nice spot to stop. Plenty of people free camping. If you want a spot be early. Then statue is nice to see, important landmark. Nice place to stop and stretch the legs.
Excellent rest area with toilets and picnic area. Tropic of Capricorn marker is a worthwhile point of interest. Features a working mobile phone hotspot.
Good place to stop and sleep for the night, and the toilets are like reststop toilets go. A place to do your business. Can be crowded if you arrive after 6 pm. In the morning the flies were quite a nuisance and numerous, but that can't be blamed on the reststop:)
