8Do not go past this awesome spot, lovely and quiet of a night and delicious food, these type of places are fast running out, thank you very muchly from this wandering truckie.
Really Great place to stay friendly staff in servo/ shop. The camp ground is beautifully maintained, free bbq and laundry & great clean & hot showers, 5 stars
Nice Oasis on a return trip from the desert. Place has Telstra mobile coverage so a bonus reason to stop here. Have stayed here in the past, accomodation is basic clean and typical of places in remote outback. Fuel prices very reasonable only a few cents more than Alice.
I don't use the accommodation here as I'm always passing through. I usually just call in for a coffee, and sometimes a steak sandwich. The store is usually very clean, coffee and food is very good.
Traveling the tanami? Good spot to lay over and wash the red dirt off, refuel and resupply. Staff very friedly, tucker and bar worth putting on the chaff bag. Dont catch yourself out by passing by. Last public fuel and supplys with hot showers washing machines for a distance. Acomodation onsite is rustic to say the least but pleanty of space to erect the camper and sit by the fire under the desert stars
You never now who owns it. So its a bit pot luck. I recall they smothered the chips in salt, but they were bloody nice though.
Tillmouth well is a must stop for all passing through. Sweet food, awesome service and plenty of facilities to keep the kids having fun.
I recently camped over night on the way from Sydney to the Kimberly and found the camping, food, staff and amenities top quality at Tilmouth Well.
On my return I limped in to Tilmouth Well around midnight with considerable mechanical problems. The next day Kim and the rest of the staff went above and beyond the definition of customer service helping and advising me with the old fashioned country style of help you just don't get in the city. They used their local knowledge and contacts to help me organise transport back to Alice for my 4wd and camper trailer. I cant thank them enough for their very kind help and wouldn't hesitate in recommending staying there to anyone.
