David was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide on our drive around Darwin in his old but comfortable truck. Definitely an experience I recommend. Thanks!

I highly recommend this tour. David our driver was an encyclopedia of information! He gave a very indepth and interesting tour of Darwin and war history. Museum stop off was great too, a shame we did not have another 30mins here to explore everything. That being said, we really enjoyed this tour. Thanks David

This was excellent! A fantastic way of exploring Darwin’s wartime history. The stop over at the museum is well worth the time- don’t miss it! The driver’s information and personal delivery of such is outstanding.

Meet Betty - a 1940s Studebaker, built in the USA for the military and now one of the most unique ways to explore Darwin! We joined David on the Darwin History and Wartime Experience Tour on our recent visit and it was superb. It's a 90-minute run around town in this amazing heritage vehicle, complete with informative live commentary. Anyone wanting to delve into Darwin’s backstory will love this tour! Note: Betty has the wet season off.

An excellent tour - the guide is both knowledgeable and engaging. He details a ton of interesting history about Darwin. The WWII era truck is very cool and it was comfortable to ride in even during the hottest part of the day. If you do one tour of Darwin, make it this one!

What the tour guide dosent know about Darwin during and post WWII isn't worth knowing. This tour is undoubtedly the best $55 you'll spend in Darwin.

The operator narrates this unrecorded. This is the best Darwin tour. His knowledge is outstanding. The truck includes usb charging ports on all seats. My virgin flight had none!

What an experience! An excellent tour of Darwin with informative commentary along the way. The use of archival sound bites meshes everything together as you are driven around in an open backed WWII truck.

It took just minutes into the tour for me to realise how little I actually knew of the history of Darwin in WWII. By the end of the 80 minute tour I have a better understanding of the players, the places and the effects of war on Darwin. To actually have bullet holes in steel fence posts pointed out to us is something we could not have discovered on a self drive tour using a guide book. This tour makes it real for the passengers!

Also included in the tour/commentary is the historical setting for the settlement of Darwin. The commentary is not pre-recorded, it is delivered live by Dave as you tour around.

When we come back to Darwin next year we will certainly go on the same tour again as I am sure that I will retain more information second time around.

Thanks Dave for a highlight of our Darwin 2021 trip.

Cheers

The tour was amazing and very informative about the bombing of Darwin. The added ‘Santa never made it to Darwin’ bought tears to my eyes. We would highly recommend this to others. Thank you so much. Regards, Wayne and Jo Vaughan

I had a great time on this history tour of Darwin. Our driver was very thorough and knew all the places to take us. Unfortunately there were a couple of places where I wasn't able to hear him too well due to the wind blowing through, this was mainly near the boats. It may have just been because today was quite windy. However it didn't take away from the very interesting afternoon. A great time
