Sandy Creek Falls reviews
13The problem with Sandy Creek is that it is largely inaccessible due to the wet. Open now but for a short season. For those who are adventurous there is a way in to the top of the falls all year round via cross country from Lost City track. Very challenging 4 - 5 km walk in (not marked at all so peeps with Garmin and knowledge of orienteering only). But you will be rewarded with the most amazing series of cascades and an absolutely beautiful clear bottom pool. When we plotted in there were some survey pegs which suggest that this area is earmarked for public access. Really lovely. Well worth a look but not for those who do not know what they are doing to get there.
Lovely spot, incredibly scenic Tjaynera Falls for a cool swim, but it's a 20 minute walk in from the campground or car park. Campground is great and has running water for washing, showers (cold) etc.although the water is very brown and not for drinking.
Incredible place! Favourite waterfall and swimming hole in Litchfield. Beautiful spot which you can only reach with 4WD. That includes a cool water / river crossing. Hike to get there from the car park and camp ground isn’t too hard
Beautiful spot only accessible by 4wd and a bit of a walk to get there but definitely worth it. Our favourite spot in Litchfield.
Bit of trek in along a goat track style path but well worth it. I always take a pool noodle and a bag of refreshments/snacks.
Best spot, amazing waterfall cool water and spots to jump in. You need a 4x4 but crossings are not deep enough to need a snorkel in our Prado
Our absolute FAVOURITE place to visit at Litchfield National Park! The walk in was cruisey enough, beautiful water temp! Highly recommend!
Lovely waterfall. Walk is a fairly easy 1.7km, it is scenic and not too many people. Water is easy to access but is cold.
Creek dry at the end of dry season so was easy track down to the falls. Campsite was less busy than the others and same for the waterfall. Decent walk but so worth it and had it to ourselves in the late afternoon.
Worth to do the trail walk along the side of the creek to see this Beautiful falls and swim up to the other end.
There are no words that can describe this truly amazing place just stunning the walk in is a little long weaving your way up down around through little creeks but dam well worthwhile at the end
Fair walk in to the falls, but there are some pretty spots along the way too. The water is a little cool, especially once it's in the shade. Go in the afternoon to see the sun on the falls.
I loved these falls. Such beautiful scenery! Cold, refleshing swim. Definitly recommand. A small hike to the falls, not very level, but not to hard. (not for weelchairs)
The road there is only 4WD, do not try with 2WD! I was there in dry season, the river crossing is very ok for 4WD, it's a fun drive, the crossing is fairly long tho. I think in wet season it would be difficult to get across: p
