Roper Bar Store

Would give no stars if possible! Avoid at all costs, signage at the front of the store clearly states 11am-5pm but gates were closed before 4pm. Drove around to the Motel with no one in sight or any information on check in, walked around the entire site with nobody around. Called the store and didn't get a response until 2 hours later where we already had to drive back to Mataranka for fuel. To top it all off have been refused a refund despite never staying the night.

It’s a beautiful area with lovely campground near the Roper. Great fishing for Barra. Brett (Splitty) is a knowledgeable bloke working towards upgrades with new infrastructure to the motel and campgrounds, hoping to breathe new life into the area. Can’t wait to come back to see it finished product.

Very pleasant chap to have a chat with. Better diesel prices than Lorella Springs. Cheap (frozen) local Barra which was delicious.

Friendly store manager with well stocked shop with an uncrowded camping ground and hot showers.

Lovely place and great people who couldn't have been more helpful. $10 per person -cheaper for kids. Shady sites, good, clean toilet block with tiled showers. Kids loved driving across the bar. Good road in.

Good place when going out to ngukurr stayed there two nights the rooms have ac and and fridge with drinks and snacks and the cook does a good Barra and steak.five stars all day mate

One of the better places to go and buy your tucker if you are passing through the Northern Territory. Reasonably priced according to your needs and wants. If your travelling through the NT call in and have a look. You may be surprised.

Already giving this place 5 stars because I'm hopefully staying tomorrow and while checking it out I had the pleasure of reading Luke Sparrow's string of 1-star reviews which were so amusing I've decided I'm going to like the Roper Bar Park and store.

Arrived in Roper Bar to get fuel and then had a battery failure in the motorcycle. Paul went out of his way to assist and we were underway in an hour or so. Awesome outback experience.

Typical dive in NT.
Place is falling apart.
Management drinking all night with patrons keeping paying workers up all night.
Should be ashamed of himself.
I would rather drive back to Mat or K town than ever stay here again after the disrespectful way the manager drunk and smoked cannabis allowing it to blow through rooms.

Roper Bar is a great place to fish at the old crossings. The store is in operating again, but they don't sell no fuel not yet anyway so is best for you to bring own fuel if you coming for a fishing or camping trip.

Roper Bar park and store is open again. Caravan park has unpowered sites available, toilets are new and caretakers on site to keep it all clean and store is open 11am to 5pm daily. No fuel available as yet but they are working on it. Friendly staff, plenty of variety of stock in store including cold drinks, bread, meat and munchies

Good Staff. Basics in food & drink. Fuel available. Considering the stores remote location, prices acceptable.

Can't do enough to accommodate weary travelers. It's got everything you need to keep the adventure going.
