Readback Books & Aboriginal Art Gallery reviews
5Definitely worth a visit! Incredible collection. Varying sizes and good information about artist and story of each painting. Good talking with owner about how she got into the business and her knowledge and connections with the artists are commendable. Love the combination of a book store as well.
Had a great experience while purchasing beautiful paintings at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets.
Went to the gallery where we had a terrible experience. A female staff member accused my kids of stealing. Had asked the staff member to check the cameras to prove that they didn’t
- the staff member said that she couldn’t “be bothered”. Will no longer be purchasing art from this gallery.
I recently visited Readback Books & Aboriginal Art Gallery and had a truly wonderful experience. Loretta, the owner, was incredibly knowledgeable about Aboriginal art and culture, and it was evident in the exquisite collection of artworks on display. What really made my visit special was the opportunity to see Aboriginal artist Eddie working on his stunning paintings right there in the shop. His works were truly outstanding, and it was a privilege to see him at work. The bookstore also had a great selection of books on indigenous history and culture, which added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this gallery to anyone who wants to learn more about Aboriginal art and culture and witness or buy some of the most outstanding works by local Aboriginal artists
Great people and very knowledgeable. It's enlightening to see there are galleries that can maintain positive relationships/friendships with artists outside of the business world, if you visit ask the employees about the Numina family & Janet Long - not many galleries can give you this kind of information or experience. They also had an artist painting when I visited and he was very open to questions and photos - if you are after a genuine aboriginal art experience I recommend you visit here.
