Olive Pink Botanic Garden reviews
47It's always a peaceful and calming atmosphere. The coffee is good.the food is simple but nice. Takes a little bit of time for the food but I always go when I have time to sit and enjoy the gardens
Great place where you will spot a lot of local birds and wallabies quite easily. The walk top to the hill is quite nice too and gives some nice views on a clear day. There is quite a bit of historical reference too to see things from different perspective
It was a quiet place with lots of local plants and trees which were in bloom thanks to the rains.saw a few kangaroos and lizards on the walks which made the day great.the tracks are well maintained
The garden is usually interesting & varied, tho in comparison to past visits, it is now disappointingly unkempt & overgrown, with scant evidence of any maintenance or care.
Oh dear. Not much of a tourist attraction at the moment.
Wonderful trails amongst the native plants. If you are lucky you might even see a kangaroo or 2.
First and foremost, probably didn't visit the garden in the best season for it. And can't blame the garden for not blossoming. That said, it was a bit disappointing this time of year. Diversity in plants didn't really show unfortunately. However I did really like several of the information signs. Beside of the expected information about flora and fauna they also inform you about how all of that interweaves with aboriginal culture and history. Made the climb up the hill which gives a nice view of the area, and spotted some wildlife!
We had our hopes up too high. The cafe is closed Mon - Wed, hardly any plants were flowering - wrong time of the year, signage of the plants and walkways is poor - the booklet & internet wasmore informative.
This is a wonderful place to visit and walk around. The climb to the top is amazing for views and seeing Rock Wallabies.
Our family loves the cafe! One of the best places to have breakfast/ brunch in town and such a lovely place to do it!
Good walks, nice hill climb (go in the morning to see all the rock wallabies!)
Nice Cafe too, but check open times.
Absolutely loved Cafestaff very customer focused.also the views were breathtaking. Rest Rooms very clean and high standard.
Did the big climb, absolutely amazing.
Picnic area great for families or singles. Also Dog Friendly. Returned a few days later before leaving Alice Springs.
What a wonderful attraction in Alice. The most unusual botanic gardens I have ever been to but so interesting with the history of Miss Pink. The plants were interesting and the birds incredible. A must do in Alice Springs.
Nice birds around there. The botanical info cards are interesting. Too bad the café was closed, but happy to see the Western Bowerbird is still operating his business
A lovely little arid garden with some plants labelled. Sculptures & information boards throughout. Quiet with wildlife around. Cafe only open in morning so can’t comment. No dogs allowed, even on leash.
Cool little botanic garden alike Easy walks, good lookouts, I am sure the flowers and such are good at the right time of year.
We loved this quiet place. Learn about the plant. You can meet wallabies and kangaroos, also birds. Go on the top for the lookout. And make a stop at the Cafe, very nice people there and good food.
Beautiful place to visit, you must climb the little hill. By luck you might encounter some cute little creatures around. The cafe is great with nice and warm staffs.
Beautiful gardens, I love that the info signs reference the local Aboriginal uses and knowledge - very unusual for Australia to actually acknowledge Indigenous people so thoroughly! Having learnt more about Miss Pink, I now see why these signs are so good. What a wonderful woman.
I think that this garden is great, and doesn't perhaps get quite the respect it deserves. I read a few reviews about a lack of flowers and information about Olive.
This is a botanical garden in the red centre of Australia, with a lot of native species planted and looked after here in safe keeping, should they ever die out in the wild.
You cannot expect a desert garden to be watered into a lush green floral display - if that's what you'd like to see, I highly recommend Sydney's Botanical Garden.
I've posted photos of what flowers there were - if you look hard enough for beauty you can find it.
The information about Olive was great, she sounded like a fantastic person and if only she was still alive today! We need more advocates like her. Books in the shop about her.
