We took 3 tours with N T Indigenous Tours: 1) Darwin City 2) Litchfield Spectacular and 3) Fogg Dam. Tes and Greg are amazing people and a real pleasure to be with. If you are interested in learning about the indigenous culture and history this is where you will find it. Our group also has an interest in bird and wildlife photography again Tes and Greg are experts.

Outstanding tours around Darwin and Litchfield Park with Tess and Greg! They were so nice, well organized, they go at your pace. Our family took 3 different tours with them and each one was just perfect to the different birds we saw, the in depth information about Darwin, indigenous peoples, both historical and modern day. And they fed us, bonus!

Tess and Greg are awesome! Great value. Personally prepared a white tablecloth meal in the bush that was the best food we’ve had in Australia! Can’t say enough!

We recently used NT Indigenous tours for a private tour of Original Owner lands near Darwin. We were very happy to support this company as it is the only indigenous owned tour company in the whole of the Northern Territories. Our tour guides were the owners, “Tess” and “Greg. ” Both were incredibly knowledgeable as to the topography and history of these beautiful lands. Having Tess, an indigenous woman of amazing knowledge and experience, explaining where we were and what the lands mean to the original peoples of this part of Australia was incredible. She is lovely, funny, and very patient in explaining what we were experiencing. Greg took us on rocky paths to beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes. He asked us how fast we wanted to trek. We said “fast” and he was off and moving quickly. With Greg who is quite athletic, be careful what you ask for! We loved it. Tess and Greg provided us with an incredible homemade lunch which included cold beverages, salad, grilled crocodile, and grilled kangaroo. All of it was delicious and an amazing display. I can’t recommend this tour company highly enough. Their tours are worth every cent.

My wife and i loved this tour. Tess and Greg showed us as much as they could in one day and did it smoothly and comfortably. No rushing, answered any questions honestly, comentated about lots of local aboriginal and aussie perspectives.
They are great hosts.
The lunch Tess cooked was fantastic.
We swam, learned about bush tucker, traditional family stories good and bad.
I feel we got a honest assessment of the indigenous and australian situation as they have local family who live in the south west of Darwin area, and bought up there own kids here.
Tess is a locally born indigenous lady with a wealth of knowledge.
This is there own business, so they do it all front office to tour guides. Such passion and hard work so we can enjoy our holiday.
Thank you both and best wishes on future endeavour's.

We had a wonderful day on this tour. Tess and Greg were great guides. Tess grew up on the country known as Litchfield National Park. She shared her knowledge and stories with dignity and honesty. Fabulous barbecue for lunch.

Tess and Greg are awesome. We had a small group and covered a lot of ground but it was never rushed. Their collective knowledge is amazing and they are very easy to spend a day with. Highly recommended if you like a relaxed, informative and friendly day trip. We had 2 adults and 2 young kids and had a blast. Thanks Tess and Greg

One of the best tours I had in Australia (1 day Litchfield), Tess and Greg are great. If you are after a truly authentic understanding of Country, interested in trying out new foods, fragrances, and better understand the nature around you AND understand first hand the history and current life and challenges of local aboriginal people, this tour is for you. I also appreciate a lot the off the beaten track experinces and this tour definitely delivered.

If you are going to do one tour in Darwin, let it be this one. This is the most authentic Indigenous-run tour in the region where you will get to see places and learn things not available elsewhere.
Besides its gorgeous scenery and refreshing (and safe!) water holes to swim, Litchfield is closer to Darwin making it an ideal day trip. The day was optimally paced with activities and delicious freshly cooked food.
I will not forget this day ever thanks to Tess who was kind enough to share details about her culture and family, and Greg who was eager to show us the flora and fauna of the region. Thank you for the amazing experience!

This was the best tour I think I have been on, anywhere in the world.

The hosts have an extremely rich personal and historically understanding of Country and intermix big-picture commentary about major legal decisions affecting access to and use of land - with personal anecdotes, such as stopping to point out the spot where the guide's sister was once attacked by a croc at a creek she had stopped at to refill her water bottle.

The tour itself is based on a deep and personal understanding of the land and environment and changes on a daily basis, upon what is happening on Country at that point in time - and the interests of the clients on that particular day.

No topics were off limits, with some robust discussion between all attendees par for the course. The tour was eye-opening, not only about a beautiful part of the world, but the ongoing complexities of bridging the divide between Traditional Custodians and non-indigenous Australia.

The raw, real and open communication from the guides was refreshing and a highlight of my time in Darwin.

As noted above, the tour varies on a day to day basis and I would happily go again next time I was in Darwin.

Can't recommend this tour enough.

An absolutely spectacular day. Everything was friendly, professional and made so easy, starting with the phone booking, during the informative, interesting and breathtaking tour, the gourmet lunch to the final drop off. An excellent experience to put friends and family from out of town on, but also for those wanting to learn more about the rich cultural history of Litchfield. Thank you Tess and Greg - we had a great time!

A wonderful cultural day out in Litchfield National Park home of Tess's ancestors. We heard stories from her past and experiences of her country. We were treated to a hearty lunch in proper style and bbq sampling of local wildlife. The day was packed with lots of interesting sights and the day ending with a refreshing dip in crystal clear stream at Walkers Creek.
Thanks very much to our hosts Tess and Greg.

We had our best day ever in Litchfield under the expert guidance of Tess and Greg. Their knowledge of the area was immense with culture, natural features, history and flora and fauna all generously shared and their fun and flexible ways made the tour absolutely fabulous from the time of booking right through to our return home. We’ve been going to Litchfield for years but this tour gave us the richest experience of this wonderful country. Highly recommended.

Tess and Greg run this amazing tour of Litchfield National Park, stopping at the beautiful Berry Springs on the way. The water is warm, like the hosts who are generous and considerate. Their deep knowledge is communicated in a sensitive way.there are so many interesting things to see and learn, but there is no rushing. And the food is delicious! I highly recommend this tour.

Found this tour by chance and couldn't have made a better choice of tour guides to visit Tess's country.
Discovered so much about our first nation's people and culture whilst experiencing bush tucker, learning about bush medicine and witnessing the beautiful landscape, wildlife and attractions of the national park.
Highly recommended.

This review is long overdue given the remarkable day that We spent with Tess and Greg from Northern Territory Indigenous Tours. The tour was planned last minute but Tess and Greg were supper flexible and accommodating. It was a fun-filled day exploring Litchfield National Park. Tess and Greg’s personalities, sense of humor and intimate knowledge of the National Park specifically and the Darwin area more broadly made for memories that will last forever. Beautiful scenery, simply fantastic tour tailored lunch and breathtaking sunset with cool beverages made for an awesome experience. Highest of recommendations.

We have just come back from Darwin and would like to say how much we enjoyed the tour we did with Greg and Tess from Indigenous Tours. We found that having a one on one tour was the best thing for us even if there was a small group it would still be the same outstanding service We were picked up from our Hotel and taken to Litchfield Park where we were shown many aspects of the park that you don't get from brochures. Tess the Aboriginal Guide is outstanding and along with Greg her husband who is so knowledgeable showed us cultural aspects that we would not have seen otherwise, as her family grew up in this area. We would highly recommend this tour we loved it and it was definitely the highlight of our trip to Darwin.

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Darwin; don't miss the opportunity to learn about country from Tess. Aboriginal people in Australia have over 60,000 years of history and connection to the land, and Tess generously shares her knowledge and stories with you. The week before, I had been on another tour in Darwin (not run by Indigenous people) and Tess's tour was SO MUCH BETTER in every way. With Tess and Greg, you will go to beautiful locations and actually learn properly about the history and meaning of the places you visit. They were funny, informative, patient, and enthusiastic - really excellent guides. The food was delicious, and the setting where we had lunch was stunning (on land owned by Tess's grandfather, within Litchfield national park). Greg took photos of us throughout the tour and emailed them to us; I have been on other tours where this was an expensive add-on, but Greg did this for free. Overall, the tour was excellent value for money and I learned a lot. Highly recommended!
