Great place to stay. Our cabin was spacious and clean. A short walk to the visitors' centre with the restaurant and beyond to the tours.

Our family loved the cabins!
Yes a little dated, but super clean, comfy beds, good aircon and so peaceful. So close to the gorge and being able to hike to the lookout before dinner was fab. Kids loved the very nice pool. Super helpful staff

We stayed for one night in March, the chalet is very outdated and in need of an upgrade but it was comfortable enough, the shower temperature was erratic and it's a little cramped but served it's purpose. Due to it being wet season the cafe wasn't open for evening meals, we used it for breakfast which was very overpriced and the coffee was terrible. The pool area is great, large and clean! We used a barbecue in the evening, they need to be replaced, the surface is peeling and we had to clean them before using, the barbecue area could also do with being upgraded. Overall, the accommodation is overpriced but the gorge was worth visiting.

Chalet was dated but comfortable. Bedroom window looked out onto gas cylinders and a wheel barrow, front deck looked out into the park. Poolside Bar & bistro was closed, meals were available from the visitor centre, dinner was fantastic with a view across the gorge and sunset from the deck was spectacular. We swam in the pool after dinner - no one else there - really nice pool. Staff and service was fantastic, a perfect place to stay if you are doing a gorge tour or walk, wouldn't recommend staying in Katherine - seems a troubled little town

Started bad and then went downhill.
We stayed in Nitmiluk chalet no 2 for the night of 14th Sep 21. Upon arrival we met the manager (Stefano) that informed us that even though we have book through the travel agent they don’t have confirmation of payment and he wanted to charge us again. When I said that I already paid in full he didn’t believe me saying he can’t give me keys in that case. I have showed him paid invoice and bank statement but that wasn’t enough for Stefano. He told me that in order to get the keys to the cabin I need to leave my drivers licence and credit card with him overnight. I refused and was almost ready to leave and find some other accomodation and deal with my agent later on. He finally agreed to just take credit card details (reasonable).
Great - we have the key!
The cabin/chalet itself was horrendous. It is very outdated and tight (30cm space between bed and walls on both sides) but that wasn’t the deal breaker.
The dirt though was - the bedside tables and the rest of surfaces were filthy, the fan super dusty.
The water in the shower was changing from cold to scalding hot every 30 seconds so I had to forget about relaxing shower…
The only food available at dinner time was served at the pool area from trailer looking shed. I ordered special of the day - butter chicken. Well, the person who decided to call that this “butter chicken” must have had wild imagination. The dish consisted of slices chicken breast covered in gravy with blob or rice the consistency of a pudding. I suspect it may be cooked around the same time as the cabin was last cleaned.
All right - so we’re showered (somehow) and fed (somehow). Unfortunately our evening routine was interrupted by the power outage. In total darkness in unfamiliar place we somehow managed to find our beds. At this stage I’m worried about not being able to wake up on time for the morning tour as there is no way to charge the phone. However it turned out that wasn’t an issue at all as with no electricity the temperature in the cabin was rising even faster then level of my irritation. Also the bed mattress may have remembered the last century, judging by how easy I was able to count every spring (and bruised on my hipbones the morning after).
The memory of that night will definitely stay with me for a while.

So yes, it is the only available accomodation in close proximity to Katherine Gorge Cruises (great experience) but do yourself a favour and spent additional 25 min driving from some other (ANY OTHER) accomodation.

Extremely rundown, amenities filthy even after cleaner had been, camp kitchens non functional.
Very disappointed

Nice location as it’s easier to visit the Nitmiluk National Park and walk around. It’s simple, but practical. The chalet I stayed with my partner had the living room with a good space for cooking and the bedroom had a nice and comfortable bed.
I didn’t have time to use the swimming pool as I’ve done the Gorge tour.

Ps: I could hear the family with kids that was staying next to our chalet as they were in the same room, which means: don’t expect too much privacy and be quiet heheh

We used our Territory Voucher which took the edge of the price. They are pretty predictable caravan park Chalets however these are well appointed and even have a coffee machine and pods. Would have got 5 stars except for the $340 a night which I think is a little high.

We stayed at the Chalets in October for $300 / night. We would not stay here again, rather stay in Katherine. The chalet was clean but that was the only plus. The pool was disgusting - we swam once in 3 days as the water was milky white (and did not put our heads in the water in case we got ear infections). The communal BBQ area was dirty, semi functioning and the light was not working (found my hubby cooking out dinner by mobile phone torch light). The first BBQ area didn't have working BBQ's at all. The fridge did not work well (the freezer did, but if we had stayed for more than 2 nights some of our food would have perished). The mattress was not that comfortable, you could feel the coils. Towel has hole in it. There was no internet anywhere that we tried. Beautiful location, but Chalets quite terrible. Come on Nitmiluk Chalets, you can do better than this! I seldom leave negative reviews, but for $300 a night this is TERRIBLE.

Small but comfortable and well maintaned. Need to give it spruce up with with some local art. Aircon works really well.

Chalets are comfy and cool. However the bathroom is a touch small - doesn't help that I have a pretty badly injured knee at the time of posting which wasn't planned obviously.

The staff were lovely but the chalet was not as exciting as we had anticipated. Drinks and supper around the pool is a nice touch although we were lucky there were no flies or mosquito that night. Wild life wander through the park. No tours leave in the afternoon so don’t plan on fitting one in and moving on the next day.

Unhelpful and uncaring staff. I was charged twice for my room and they forgot about my booking until I arrived to check in. Even then I had to pull up emails and booking confirmations / receipts before anyone did anything to help me. The “chalets” are pretty awful, we found dirty dishes and glasses put back in the cupboard and there were insect nests / stains on the wall when we arrived.

Save yourself some cash and hassle, stay elsewhere in Katherine and drive into the gorge. It’s only a 20ish min drive and you won’t have to pay a ridiculous amount to stay in a demountable.
