This is a great, free MAGNT exhibition of some of the big, now extinct, animals of Central Australia. Good information about the Alcoota dig site, how they found it, some great models - even a chance to see some live clean up work of some fossils taking place. It's only small, so doesn't take long. Well worth a look.

Nice collection. Friendly staff. Iwould have liked more books, on megafaune in general and on the collection specially, in the souvenir shop

A very interesting place to learn more about the creatures that used to roam Australia. High quality exhibits. I was very happy to give them a donation for the experience. Thank you for making it free for the public.

Great experience and step into the era where you got to know the history during the Ice Age. It's free entry but close at 4pm so plan your time inside as there are also to read.

Small space so not much time required to see the displays. Free entry also very welcome. Good displays and easy to read information about the fossils and past animal life in central Aus. Impressive models. That’s one large not-an-emu.

Great place to visit to learn about archeology discoveries from the NT. Would recommend for kids, about an hr worth of content to explore!

This is a great place to take kids, my youngest brother had a great time looking at the displays, skeleton reconstructions, measuring himself against the scale wall, examining fossils under a microscope, listening to and watching the interactive displays and videos. Watching fossils be examined and cleaned through the viewing window was awesome!
The gift shop area has some fantastic books and toys for children and budding young paleontologists or geoscientists.

Kids had a great time looking at all the fossil displays and informative video. I thought they'd get bored faster but we spent well over 30min exploring the small space! Great free activity for the kids.

Great place to bring the kids. Lots of information and fun. I was expecting more like other museums in other states, but for what it is in Alice springs it is good. You will only be there for about 30 mins before you have seen all there is to see.

A great little free museum about the megafauna fossils discovered at Alcoota (north east of Alice Springs). Good displays with interesting information. I love being able to see the staff at work cleaning and studying the fossils.

This museum is free for entry. Bring you back to the ancient time 8 million years ago, an educational and cultural place. It only takes half an hour to visit, if you have time, don't miss it.

Worth visiting for the wealth of information. Who would have guessed we had such archeological findings right here in our own backyard. Very enlightening.
