McArthur River Caravan Park, Car and Boat Hire

We stayed at McArthur River Caravan park for 6 nights, the caretakers, Jason and Gayle are very friendly and go the extra mile to make sure all stayers are looked after. Jason likes to have a chat and share his fishing knowledge. Their dog, Max, is also a very good boy. The park has cars and boats for hire also. The park is well maintained with sprinklers on to control dust and to give the place a bit of greenery. Great location with just a short drive to the shops.

The owner, Jason was my hero. My bicycle rear rack got broken and I had to order it from Darwin. Luckily when I ordered the rack he was in Darwin and I asked him to pick it up and he brought it back to Borroloola next day. I was expecting it to be longer to restart my travel but with his help, I could hit the road again in a few days. He even drilled out the remaining bolt in the bike frame. He gave me superb hospitality more than just staying. Thank you so much, Jason!

Very clean cabin and certainly served its purpose. 2nd room in cabin is small, and couch is only for 2. But this is compensated by having a small dining table and sink etc
Camp kitchen is well equipped and clean.
Staff were friendly and attentive with lots of local knowledge.
Location is on the outskirts of town, which is a positive. You could walk to the lovely little BP service station.
Enjoyed our quick overnight stay.

Nice quiet park. Amentities a bit dated but kept clean and tidy with nice hot showers. Potable water. Pool. Mixture of sites, some drive through, some large shady and grassed sites. Staff are well informed of the local area, fishing etc.

Yes a great park in the middle of nowhere excellent showers after a long trip with a pool to shook in a very helpful lady at reception only little downfall was the grounds are not watered and a lot of rubbish lying around, been here a couple of times now

Had a wonderful stay here. Friendly staff. Clean tidy park. Amenities were great. Central to town. Was a good base to drive to King Ash Bay, Bing Bong, and The Lost City in Caranbirini Conservation Park.

Great spot to break the journey before heading into Qld. Good facilities, nice pool area. Helpful, friendly people.

Couldn’t agree more with the previous couple of reviews. You can tell when the managers care about what they do and the service they provide; a definite 5 star by me.

Was only going to stay one night here but ended up staying 5 nights and then didn't want to leave. A lovely park to just chill. Lovely pool, big space to park, wash your vehicle for $5.00 and lovely friendly staff especially Gayle. Cheers Sherry

Great place to stay especially after the Savannah way. Friendly staff and a lovely pool. We turned up late and the staff couldn't be more helpfull

Surprisingly spacious and clean place to stay in the middle of nowhere. Has high ceilings and everything you need to be comfortable. Staff are friendly and warm.

Had a longer than planned stay at this park due to our caravan having a broken axle but enjoyed the place, new pool which the temp was spot on, clean amenities, good water pressure and the most important thing the owners were extremely helpful and polite. We had time to hire a boat and was given good advice on where and how to go to catch some fish which we did.

Spent a lovely couple of days at this park. Staff were friendly and had great local knowledge. Pool was very welcome.
