Mason Gallery reviews
11I bought an authenicated painting from this gallery and some other authentic, Australian made souvenirs. Jeffery is a very interesting and knowledgeable man. I enjoyed my time in this gallery, very much so and look forward to returning some day.
Excellent range of indigenous artworks. This is the BEST gallery to visit in Darwin. The owner is friendly and welcoming and has a wonderful knowledge of the artists. I often feel concerned about the ethics associated with the sale and potential exploitation of indigenous artists but I completely trusted the Mason gallery. BTW.we LOVE our painting and all the non-pushy, helpful service that led to its purchase. Thank you!
Looking for quality indigenous art and this gallery had a fair bit. But the owner showed no interest in helping us and the prices were steep for some generic products I.e. An identical small bird carving was $180 here and half that price elsewhere
Sensational experience!
The welcome, the selection of art, the depth and manner of sharing information and details re the pieces, and generosity of time in supporting our decision were incredible.
A most brilliant experience.
Certain to visit again.
Incredible gallery filled with a range of beautiful art and run by wonderful people. Geoffrey was very welcoming and more than happy to share his vast knowledge with us. The time he spent with us to ensure we found our perfect piece was greatly appreciated.
Definitely recommend visiting this gallery to everyone and will certainly be back during our next visit to Darwin!
Shop had a variety of artworks and products available for purchase. The real pleaser was seeing the interactions between dealer and artist. Very polite and accommodating happy to recommend your business
Very niece selections to choose from. I went to TIWI Island yesterday and looked at art there too. I did purchase a carved wood painted by the locals. Some of the artist have pieces here for sale. So if you can't jump on a small FLY TIWI Plane you should come here. Just the plane ticket and time I could have purchase 1 or 2 more items here. Well I learned and that's why I shearing with you.
Stumbled upon these guys these guys on a public holiday while on a recent trip to Darwin. Staff were great and art was awesome so much so I walked out with 5 pieces.
Fantastic pieces with photos and details of each indeginous artist. Prices for the art was on par with most places in Darwin which was quite dear. But I guess the galleries have to make their profits and cover costs.
Very large selection of paintings and all as great as the last. The employees are also awesome and take the time to explain the history and culture of the artists as well as the meaning of their work. Definitely will never see an aborigines painting the same way again!
Amazing experience and a very knowledgeable staff. It’s very obvious this gallery is directly involved with their artists. Spoke with “Aunty Shirley” who helped us look through their works and explained in-depth. She has wonderful insight into the art and artist and is proud of her culture.
