Lost City Rock Formations reviews
16Loved this place. Amazing rock formations. Definately 4x4 only. Perhaps avoid during hottest part of the day. Walking track around formations is good and easy. Some informative signage and carpark.
We were disappointed with this one. Was a rough 12km drive in and the end result was Underwhelming.
The drive in is pretty rough. Lots of corrugation. But the walk along the path is pretty cool.
What a spectacular place. You drive down 10km of quite rough dirt road, 4WD required and not suitable for caravans, but the drive down is certainly worth it. The rock formations are stunning. We've never seen anything like it in our lives. This was one of our highlights in the Northern Territory.
Well worth the relatively short 4WD track which is a bit rough in places, but generally OK. A nice walk through the sandstone monoliths takes about 20 minutes. Avoid the hot part of the day!
Fascinating place. Worth a visit. Amazing rock formations. A bit of a rough road in, but nothing too onerous for a 4WD.
I'd you are looking for Darwin's CBD here it is. An easy drive in if you have a 4wd and a great cluster of trails to explore.
Bit of corrugation for part of the drive then windy single than track with plenty of pull over spots.
Great rock formations when you get there and easy walk around them.
Great place to visit that's a little different to the rest of Litchfield national Park. You need a 4x4 to get out here. It's an easy walk around a small loop the rock formations
A must do. I was amazed at the structures and the aura of slowly walking through them. Well worth the drive. Also Blyth Homestead is a must do. Two creek crossings, one 60cms deep and 20m plus across. Have to be experienced in 4WD. I was a bit scared but hubby knows what he's doing.
Impressive rock formations that kind of look like a lost city. Bit out of the way but the 4wd track was fun! No toilets there. We probably spent about 15-20 mins wandering around
The 4WD track in wasn’t too difficult, very beautiful scenery on the drive we loved it! The lost city itself was great. Very beautiful natural sandstone rock formations, you can walk through little tunnels and archways, it was very cool!
Incredible - does look like a lost city. Is 4WD only but a hybrid might be able to make it in
Definitely one of the highlights of visiting Litchfield! You definitely need a 4WD as the corrugated road quickly gives way to a narrow and fairly treacherous road for those not properly equipped. We were rewarded at the end with somewhere comparable only to a natural Angkor Wat. Loved taking our time meandering through the beautiful rock formations. If you have the means, definitely visit here!
What a find! We nearly didn't come here, but so glad we did! Amazing rock structures, easy to walk and a fun drive there!
I loved it here. It reminded me a little of Angkor Wat, only this is totally natural.
The rock formations were huge and the precariously balanced rocks at the top of the crevices were amazing to see.
We spent a while walking around and found it to be a surprising detour on our day trip.
