Disappointing Experience at Longitude 131: Unacceptable Quality of Service

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying and dining at Longitude 131, expecting a five-star service but was left utterly disappointed. I feel compelled to share my concerns to shed light on the unacceptable quality of service we encountered.

During our visit, we were served food that exhibited clear signs of neglect and a shocking lack of attention to food safety standards. Most alarming was the presence of mold on the blueberries, as evident in the attached photo. This not only raises concerns about the immediate health risks we faced but also casts doubt on the overall integrity of the hotel's food service.

The fact that such substandard food was allowed to be served speaks volumes about the negligence of both the kitchen staff and waitstaff. It is inconceivable that they could ignore such glaring issues and serve potentially harmful food to patrons expecting a premium dining experience.

Our disappointment only deepened when we sought resolution for this matter. Despite a few follow-ups, the hotel's response was unsatisfactory, offering a mere acknowledgment of fault with no concrete resolution. This lack of urgency and commitment to rectify the situation is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on the hotel's commitment to customer satisfaction.

This experience has raised serious questions about the overall food safety practices at Longitude 131. If such negligence could occur in plain sight, it calls into question the integrity of the other dishes served, as well as the general trustworthiness of the hotel's food service.

In light of these issues, we believe that a five-star establishment should uphold the highest standards of service, and this experience has fallen far short of that expectation.

We sincerely hope that the hotel manager takes this feedback seriously and undertakes immediate corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future. As consumers, we place a significant level of trust in the reputation of five-star establishments, and this experience has left us questioning the credibility of the service provided.

I wish whoever visits the hotel after us can have a peaceful mind on the food safety!

Best experience I have had in my life. The best hotel, experience I have ever had, throughout the 30 countries I have been. A world must!

Outstanding service, luxury accommodations, and first-class dining make this an amazing way to see Uluru! The resort staff caters to every desire and anticipates every need. The views are spectacular. The tours are informative and enjoyable and teach profound respect for the Aboriginal owners of the land and the knowledge they have developed over centuries of listening to Country.

An amazing experience that exceeded our high expectations in every way.
The panoramic view of the Rock from our bedroom each morning was breath taking.
World class food. Professional but friendly and attentive staff looked after our every need.

This place is GREAT. So happy we got to spend a few days here. If you're lucky enough to stay here you will love it.
I can't say enough about how great the staff is. Jake at the bar, was fun and took good care of us, but every person here is very well trained and just does an outstanding job of making sure everyone is well taken care of.

The excursions are well planned and expertly executed. Always going the extra mile.

The tents are very comfortable and well done. The food was EXCELLENT and way exceeding expectations.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO ULURU THIS IS THE EXPERIENCE YOU WANT.
GREAT JOB AND KUDOS TO EVERYONE ON THE STAFF.

Superb hotel/resort in the most amazing of locations. We’ll worth the money. All of the staff were extremely attentive and nothing appeared too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend.

Was looking at staying with my partner - anywhere that wants to charge that much per night is unAustralian. Stay anywhere else and support local business' with that money. $4000.00+ per night - no wonder tourism in the outback is dying. Staying at Raffles locations anywhere in the world are cheaper than this. What a joke.

Wow wow wow! No words! After forced to spend a night in another location near by (as Longitude 131 was full), we were so pleased to have arrived. Service, walks, food, and so many details were just so perfectly organized. Well done management!

If someone tells you they've been to a better resort than this they are flat out lying. An incredible location, with amazing staff (especially Bec and Brando) and world class food. Could not recommend 131 more to make an already special trip to Uluru - Kata Tjuta even more special

Wow! Simply wow!
The whole Longtitude 131 experience has been exceptional, I wish I could thank everyone individually too many names to remember.
The tents are sublime! The tours are immense, the organisation that goes into the running of the place is extraordinary. Real personal treatment from the moment you arrive, quality and attention to all the little details.
Food is simply divine, drinks and service beyond 5 star.
I have been wanting to come to Uluru for all my life and what a place to see it from. We had this trip postponed four times due to covid. So glad we actually finally made it.
The trips are a must do to both Ayres rock and kata Tjuta are unmissable, the field of lights as well as the restaurant table 131.
Transfers and transport all catered for and super organised.
The tour staff are all highly trained super knowledgeable and very personable. I would really appreciate if the management team passed this message to all their staff as they all do an amazing job.
We even got to meet the house lizard “Frank”

We will be back Andy and Caroline

Stella! We were concerned that the service would let down the location (we booked the dune pavilion) but it actually exceeded it! All the staff were amazing with the highest level of attentive service without being fake or annoying. Without a doubt one of the best experiences in an Australian resort. Thank you Lou, Bec and the whole team for an experience we will forever rave about.

A lot of places claim to be “the best” but Longitude 131 delivers - and goes down as one of our BEST holidays ever!

The food is amazing! The people are so so lovely. And the view of The Rock from our bed? We sat there in awe.

Longitude 131 organised our activities so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. And did I mention the food?

We slept in a swag under the stars - despite our bed being 5 metres away. I’m sure fairies live there because they set it up and packed it away! Simple!

Uluru was a bucket list experience for us and to do it during COVID with no international tourists - and stay at Longitude 131 - was a memory we will never forget - it actually might have to go back in our bucket list!

Amazing staff, activities, food. The whole package is sensational. It is not an accommodation it is a once in a lifetime experience. I can not rate it highly enough.

Seems expensive except when you consider what’s included - stunning location, premium tours, wonderful staff, gourmet food and all the booze your liver can handle - including Louis Roederer champagne. May is a great time of year to go - not too hot and fewer flies.

Service is second-to-none. The location and property are spectacular and every single meal was delicious, and staff were happy to make changes to dishes if necessary. Staff are friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to ensure guests enjoy their stay. The tours arranged by the lodge are excellent, well organised and are only small groups so you get the most out of them. Thr Table 131 experience was like itching I've ever done and the food there was top notch too. Nothing but positive feedback on Longitude 131. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely go back!

The Travelmints team stayed at the Northern Territory's Longitude 131 for our honeymoon, and it didn't disappoint. We'd been wanting to travel to NT for a while, and Longitude 131 served as a great place to stay while exploring - the staff even gave us some great recommendations of activities to do while we were there!
From the moment you land at the airport, you're greeted by Longitude staff. They drive you back to the hotel, and you get your first glimpse of Uluru on the way. Once you arrive, you're presented with a personal itinerary of events, as well as a glass of champagne, so you'll immediately feel like you're in the lap of luxury.
Whether it's hanging out at the spa, with Uluru just a glance away, or a dinner under the stars (taking place just 100m from where we were staying), it felt like the Longitude staff had thought of everything to make this a trip to remember.
If you're wanting to take things to the next level, each of their villas have a bed so you can sleep under the stars, and while you're in the NT, you'll want to make the most of the view, something the staff understand and make part of everything you do at the hotel. Want to experience Uluru and all its natural beauty? A stay at Longitude 131 will allow you to enjoy the NT, and its breathtaking surrounds, without having to give up that feeling of luxury for even a second.
