Katherine River Lodge Motel reviews
30Great value budget accommodation. Aged facilities but very tidy, happy with what is offered for the price paid.
Lots of mistakes. No milk in room. Was told I had to have black coffee. But then there wasn't even coffee in room only tea and sugar. Food was very expensive. And after meal I went to room to find someone else had been in room and deposited their luggage and belongings in my room. That's very bad. So I had to move to another room. Shower head kept falling onto my head, it wouldn't stay up and not much pressure cause half the flow was coming out of the bottom tap. All in all not a pleasant stay and I stay in motels 4 nights a week.
I recently stayed at this motel during the school holidays with my family from Darwin. I was looking for budget accommodation and for the price I paid I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and well presented, yes it was older, but I wasn’t expecting the Taj Mahal. There’s also a good bistro there that does kids meals.
It was amazing to see the room had not been used by anyone before my tenancy.this was obvious by the layars of dust on the toilet. But I lie.the tennant was a spider that had a web catching copious amounts of bugs in the corner, but don't forget the cockroaches that crawl over you throughout the night. But at least the shower wasn't inhabited, the brown sludge when you turned it on the bottom of the shower must have enough bacteria to fight them all off. 1 star is too generous.
Suggest check cleanliness before settling into room
Disappointed
Dirty toilet, dirty cups and glasses
Room had cobwebs & ants throughout & couldn’t get ahold of reception to change rooms, even had struggles with checking out.
Room old tired, TV's didn't work, holes in the drapes, main door hard to close, only 2 wine glasses, no cups for coffee, clean but very small bath towels, no bath mat
Pet friendly yes, but $200/night very steep for what we got.
Unit for 5 people with,
3 chairs at a 2 person table.
4 bath towels
Cutlery and crockery for 3 - I had to wash it all before using.
2 small fridges, 1 leaking everywhere on the floor.
Multiple lights not working.
The pool has a green look to water rather than blue.
Entire complex lacks maintenance.
Best pet-friendly motel anywhere. Pets are allowed in the twin rooms, which are clean & comfortable. You can even take your dog to dinner at the onsite restaurant. Friendly staff.
Staff is friendly rooms are clean and comfortable food is awesome.
This is a great place to stay while in Katherine. The simple things done well
Satisfactory option in Katherine. I can't give a really insightful review because I did not pay for the room so I don't know how good value it was. The rooms were small (three of us shared two bedrooms with a shared bathroom). But if the prices are reasonable for the small rooms and one party gets the double bed and the other group get a single bed and bunk beds, it's a good option. It was clean and well presented. No complaints.
It was a business trip (actually ministry, but business is the closest to the option).
The previous owners were 100% much better people, really wish they never sold, today's owners are more like snobs, there's other places that are better to stay at than Katherine River Lodge, cockroaches, ants in rooms, bathrooms. Over priced for an old worn place, try other places instead that has better value, not as prejudice towards poorer people. Not always a good way to treat people. I wouldn't recommend booking in at Katherine River Lodge.
I did not enjoy my stay here. There were no cutlery in the room to use to eat my meal. There was no outside lighs to help you see when you got home. I felt it was a very low budget motel.
The waitress Catherine was great with excellent customer skills. The male boss was so dumb. Besides being rude loudly knocked at my door early at 8.30am when i was dead asleep interrupting my sleep. Maybe he thought i was some thug lol. But i loved the open area and enjoyed my bbq and whiskey.
Nice little cozy place in Katherine. Definitely pretty good for a small rural town in the NT. But of course the fittings/plumbing all old. However, the bed is comfy, clean room and air con works. Unfortunately, my night was interrupted by the dripping tap. But what can you do. I put up with it. Because the chances of calling in a plumber at night in Katherine, on a weekend, wouldve been unreal. Definitely nice affordable motel for families. Ample parking. Does the job. They provide with some fresh towels, iron box, but no good ironing board, microwave, kettle, mini fridge, soap and some mini shampoo/conditioner bottles. Overall would go again, if a little bit cheaper.
Very affordable, huge parking space, unfortunately freezer in the fridge was not working. A lot of ants you can't put food outside the fridge. Met some good friends there.
The rooms were spotless, bathroom good. Restaurant served tasty food and a lovely vegan option. Staff very welcoming.
Good motel room with mini fridge and microwave. Access to a nice shaded pool! Free parking. Rooms are clean!
Room was nice but no wifi in rooms have to go into garden to get, not as nice as the pictures look
Not happy with this place stayed over night only to have things stolen out of my car over night. Not the only person to have their car rifled through as well, happened to another couple the same night l was there. Not a safe place at all. Highly recommend not staying here. Only plus was the manager Angel
