Kata Tjuta - Valley of the Winds reviews
21Incredibly beautiful landscape and great trails for trekking through the canyons of the Kata Tjuta Mountains. In my opinion, even more exciting than Uluruh.
It is beautiful, but bringing water and hat with yourself is advised, there were 38-40 degrees on the day we visited it.
We did it with rain! Beautiful! So we didn't suffer the heat, otherwise you need to carry a lot of water if there is sun.
This is an unforgettable experience. I guarantee that you will be like me, yearning to hike and explore the scenery, because the colors of the landforms and rocks are so unique and charming in the sun. You will forget about fatigue. My six-year-old son enjoys walking. It was a great experience and I look forward to coming back again.
Walk was great. Did it early morning to beat the heat. Well worth the walk especially when through the valley itself. Sight well worth the walk.
There are two lookouts on this walk. The first is a fairly straight forward from the carpark and the second we found challenging. To get to the second turn right at the T intersection and it does have some rock scrambling. However it has some great views and stunning rock formations.
I'm so glad I seen these rocks.
So much more interesting than ulurU. Very spectacular.
Must do bucket list hike. Not as hard as they say but we had cool weather. Definitive Australian experience.
It was sunny but very windy on the day of visit. Didn't realise the wind and temperature would be so low especially early in the morning. Definitely bring a lightweight down jacket just in case that you can tuck away. Excellent views and definitely try and walk all the way around the rim. The surface isn't suitable for strollers or those with mobility problems. Even then it's still worth it to go and try go as far as you can. There is a shelter but not from any rain or wind.
Very cool place, I liked this more than Ayers rock. The walk around on the trail is good and the texture of the rock is soooo cool. Less busy but more accessible and there is places to get water along the trail if you are running short. The hike is pretty casual there is a one steeper section but I think if you can make it with not much fitness. The whole hike is pretty easy after that.
Is is one of the most beautiful places in Australia. Visiting Kata Tjuta must be on the agenda of every Australian. Visiting Kata Tjuta is a way of thanking our indigenous hosts for sharing beautiful Australia with all of us.
My favourite place when we visited Uluru, was this place.
The most amazing thing walking thru the gorge.
Was easy enough for the whole family to do.
Well what can I say and where do I start about this beautiful place. Breathtaking, peaceful, colourful, ahhhh the serenity! This is one of those places that I cannot write a review about because it needs to be seen to really take it all in. My wife and I found ourselves just staring into the landscape with no words. Starting from the sheer enormity of it all, the changing of all the surrounding colours as the day progressed during our walk. My camera was on steroids trying to capture everything so we wouldn't forget even a location of a twig on the ground. Uluru was beautiful but this place has something else about it. Once you get up to the top and see the valley below the you get an idea how big the actually place really is. Its amazing that a rocks colour can change so much in the space of a few hours, I look back through my photos and see that every frame is changing before my eyes.it was very hot but we managed to get the walk done before the peak heat hit. This is a place that needs to be on every Australians bucket list, highly recommended.
Beautiful hike, sacred and spiritual. Come here and hike in silence to absorb it's spiritual energy and see the grouse views
Incredible. We did the full Valley of the Winds walk and absolutely loved it. Much preferred it to the Uluru base walk. Getting to walk in amongst the Olgas is awesome and it was very peaceful and uncrowded- we only saw 2 other people once we passed the second (?) section where most people stopped. Highly recommend doing it!
A really awe-inspiring companion to Uluru - they are close together but very different. We were initially worried about the walk but the Valley of the Winds walk was actually easier than walking around the base of Uluru. Highly recommended for a walk.
Fantastic spot. The walk is also great. We enjoyed this walk more than Uluru.would 100% recommend taking the time to visit and complete the walk.the walk is split into sections for those less fit to participate. The views are excellent. Standing between the valley with huge amounts of wind blowing makes an excellent experience. The walk can be quite hot, so make sure to pack snacks, water and sunscreen.
This was part two of the bucket list item - To visit Uluru - The place is fantastic but be prepared to walk and climb. A visit here is a MUST
The 6 1/2 km walk was spectacular.a photo op at every turn.the walking track needs attention to protect the environment.absolutely under advertised.better than uluru
The better rock! If you are in Alice Springs, you should definitely stop by here! You feel like you're back in time and think dinosaurs are coming by any minute. You already feel like you're at the place they're searching for in Ice Age.
