K-Tong Thai Chinese Restaurant / Ktong reviews
23 Look it was ok.
The salt and pepper calamari whilst tender was soggy so undercooked unfortunately
Honey chicken was lovely.
Thr Mongolian Beef had so much dark soy and I could still taste thr fat in the meat itself. Unfortunately not great.
Wonton a bit overworked so but rubbery.
Steamed rice perfect.
It was so bloody cold though the aircon was hard-core lol.
Look it was ok it probably depends what you order. I think if the calamari had been cooked a tad longer it would if been better but it also had little salt and zero pepper I could taste and a few slices of chilli.
Waitress was nice.
Prices ok 108 for that plus jug of coke. Not bad.
Always reliable good quality food. Been getting food from there for over 20 years and haven't had a bad meal.
Ordered here for the first time tonight did miss an item but their hospitality is fantastic my fritters came crunchy my tom yum is fantastic love their food will 100% be going ordering here again delivery service fantastic also.
I have been coming here since I was little so around 6-8 years and I have always love the honey chicken with the pink sauce (Sorry I forgot what it was called because I was always busy filling my mouth with it) I has always been my suggestion we go there with the family and I has always been the same laughter, delicious and beautiful.oh and the Sizzly pork in to die for as well as the crackers. Keep up your great business you guys
I always go to Parap for Happy Gardens, then tried K-Tong and OMG, every dish was fresh, the right temperature, all was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. I will not be going back to Happy Gardens. A must try if your looking for this type of food. Thank you for this delicious food.
Hello Ktong, in response to your question we dined there the previous sunday on the 29th jan.
We don't like to criticize but thought you need to know so your aware of whats happening so that you could address these issues with your staff.
We've been getting takeout from this restaurant for some time, but decided to dine in for a change, unfortunately our experience was not as pleasant as I had hoped. The flavors of the dishes are never consistent, lacking depth and not as tasty as it normally is. I mean back 10+ years ago the meals were divine and now its like a rollercoaster, some days the food is too salty, sweet or runny and additionally the service is poor, on the night staff seemed uninterested and inattentive. Furthermore, the female staff seems quite rude, although we could be overracting with her service but we've also encounted this type of service from her over the phone more than once - she needs to fix up her customer service skills. Out of respect for my parents we didn't want to complain in their presence. However, the prices are reasonable and we only continue to eat here out of respect for our elderly parents who enjoy the food here which is why I'm giving it 5 stars on their behalf, overall its worth 3.5 stars - 1 for service & 2.5 for food
Not a nice meal, i couldnt chew my beef, it was rubber. My banana fritter could have been cooked better by my 4yr old grandson, seriously how do you get a fritter wrong.
Lovely food, not much wait on service, meals didn't take very long.
Took family enjoyed by all, no alcohol served which was fine didn't need.
K-Tong has been in Palmy for a very long time, and I have extremely fond memories eating here as a teen. Took my date there tonight, and unfortunately tonights dinner was extremely lacking, and I was overcharged!
We got the Sizzling monglian beef ($19.90), Pad Thai ($19.90) and a steamed rice ($3). My card was charged $51, when the bill should have been $42.80.
The mongolian beef was very chewy, and they use frozen veg in all meals. Texture is rubbery. Unfortunatly you get better Chinese at a takaway in the shopping centre than at this resturant these days.
And the music in the resturant was running off someones phone. Everytime they got a message the music would cut out for the alert before coming back in.
Sad to see this place has slipped from its glory days. Please up your game! Also, I want my $8.20 back. Times are tough (but not as tough as the beef was)! Lol
The service attitude of a waitress is very unfriendly, the food is delicious but the service attitude is always bad.
They weren’t particularly busy when I came but had to wait 40 minutes for two dishes.
Chow mien wasn’t even fried. Kind of more like two minute noodles in a sauce.
Lemon chicken very average.
Don’t recommend.
Have dined in and gorlt takeaway from here a number of times really happy with service, food and prices.
Ordered Special Fried Rice and Tom Yum Soup. The Special Fried rice was said to have veggies, pork and seafood but for veggies it only had peas and for seafood they had two tiny prawns sitting on top of the rice.
The taste was not that bad.
After living in Palmerston for many years, my family and I dined at K-Tong for the first time on 31 January 2021. The food was great, very tasty with large serving sizes and excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great time and are going back again tonight. I can definitely recommend K-Tong in Palmerston as the place to go for a nice family dinner.
Food is great, delicious.
Great place for family, charming place.
Price is okay, reasonable.
Take a bit long time to wait but it's worth when busy, worth waiting for great food.
Really love the decoration.
Great food here, staff friendly as well. Lucky we came in before 7pm as it got busy very quick. Food was great and came out in good time, very tasty. Thai and Chinese food can't go wrong, a must if you in Palmerston.
Been going here for years, last night may be the last time though.
Rude staff members, not just to me but other customers also.
Rotten vegetables.
Food was cold, even after waiting 45 mins for it to be cooked.
There was also inedible bits of fat that seemed to be from an animal.
A surprisingly great find! Tasty food, no fuss and relaxed, clean dinning space. Good service too! I’d definitely come back here again! Me and my partner just wanted somewhere with good food and a nice atmosphere after a trip around Darwin and this really hit the spot. I ordered a sizzling Mongolian beef with a portion of rice and it went down a treat! I ate it all without any hesitation!
Have been going to Ktong for several years but the order we had tonight was very disappointing. We ordered the fried rice, spring rolls & fried wontons. The fried rice was terrible. It was gluggy & over cooked. And the fried wontons were disgusting. Over cooked & very dry. Spring rolls were good though.
Very unhappy about this experience, & especially because we waited almost an hour for a basic order.
Don’t know if we‘ll be back.
Fantastic food, great service and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommended for a great night out.
