What a pity! We go to this historical attraction on Sunday October, but it closes down for refurbishment, reopen on April 2024, just wander around its fence.so please check on its website, Facebook or Instagram about further details.

Wanted to go to the coffee shop.
You have to buy a ticket to the gallery to do this. So didn't end up going in for coffee.

Very Interesting historic Place. Lovely old fashioned Church which could do with someone with a long Broom to remove the Historical Spiders Web! But the Food at the Cafe was YUM and rest of the sites was great. It was rather hard to imagine how the Original Lutheran missionaries managed to do all the Wonderful work they did and the People there were great.

Ā fascinating history of outback missionary colonization with an anthropological approach that contradicted the English academic thinking of the time

The stories are amazing about the Missionaries a d Lso some of the Aboriginals. Most stuff is in good nick, but there are quite a few empty rooms with nothing in them. It would be great if they could put some replica furniture in there.

Great experience to discover how the gospel entered the Aboriginal community. Also learned how the Aboriginals live as well as what the government is doing for them.

A most interesting visit to Hermannsburg Historical site

The days of yesteryear were certainly quite a different era to our living today
and I can imagine quite difficult in the olden days

A very educational place to visit if you are in the area

Very unsafe! Had kids throwing rocks and bottles at us as we drove through! Sad as we wanted to stop and learn about all the wrong done the the first people!

The amount of garbage strewn across the vacant land and road entering the town was really off-putting and made us feel the 120 odd km trek in from Clean beautiful Alice was a waste of time. But the restoration precinct was spotless and educational.

Well preserved part of an important but sensitive era in Australia’s history. Hermannsburg is a uniquely different perspective, one that should be told more often. Highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to visit.

A great day out and a look at our history in the centre Recently renovated as yrs of weather gets to wear things down, it looks great without erasing any of white Australian's cruel injustices to the indigenous people of the area Showing us the hard life of the workers and the conditions that workers and missionaries and families of the area lived with. Also the pics show some cooking and cleaning tools of the area. Furniture is one of my favourites in this post and I show a few examples of this The scenery is got to be seen to be believed and the world famous Albert Namatjira scenes are there for all to see and plenty in the gift shop to buy Coffee and strudel was very welcome and warm friendly and comfortable

Great history is well presented. Good selection of indiginous art work with a major slice going to the artist.

The best view of this place was in the rear vision mirrors on the way out of town. Millions of dollars spent on it recently, except for some out of style extensions to a verandah not sure where the money went. Dulux off white isn't that expensive.
