Henbury Meteorites Conservation Reserve reviews
10I didn't realise there was a 15km track road to the campsite which was very painful in my campervan. It was worth it though. The campsite is small, quiet with a decent toilet. Easy access to the meteorites and a pleasant walk. I wouldn't come here just for the meteorites but for camping it is great.
Easy 20 walk from the car park.
It took 4700 years to settle in, surely you can spare an hour.
Awesome easy walk around crater tops, we camped the night, lovely quiet area, well worth the detour.
Stunningly beautiful area.
When we were there in September 2020 the road was fine for two wheel drive vehicles from Stuart highway.
I definitely would not recommend going from here to Kings Canyon direct, the road is very rough.
The craters are very interesting, Clear to see that it is an impact site.
Going in is beautiful.
Really it’s only 15 minutes off the highway.
Just a great stop for a 20 minute walk.
If your interested in meteorites it's a cool thing.

If you are interested in small objects smashing into the planet at very high speed, this site is well worth a visit. Not spectacular, but it does make you think.
From the highway you'll need to take a gravel road for about 15km. The condition of the road was good enough for our 2WD to take it. The walk around the craters is easy & quick (20min return)
Very interesting place if this is your thing, a nice spot to camp as well, good facilities, bbq hot plate, and spot to camp, at $3.30 a night bloody cheap
This was a pleasant little side trip out to the Henbury Meteorite Craters, the weather was perfect and I was the only person there I was able to have wonder around and take photos. I was amazed to see the actual meteorite from one of the craters in a display at Alice Springs a few days later.
