Gunlom Campground reviews
14Was a beautiful place to camp, was not impressed with the park caretakers! We had just arrived 1830 and with 10 children, our focus was to set up tents and get dinner started, 2 people in plain clothes on push bikes come for camp fees, we didn't have correct change and was flustered trying to set up, they refused to let us know where they were situated so we could come to them once sey up, thus adding to the stress of it all, eventually convinced them to come in the morning as we had stated we are there for 3 days, apart from that, beautiful and maintained campgrounds, made for a relaxing lovely few days.
Really good facilities but do not expect the best as it is in the bush - 37 km's down a heavily corrugated road
Well maintained, toilets and showers were great. Campsite manager was super helpful with local tips.
This is a priceless experience. The grounds are really well maintained. There are showers and generous camping areas. The top of the falls is a 20 min walk/climb up the cliffs but one of the most spectacular places to swim, explore, photograph the sunset and just chill. This is well worth the drive. No 4WD needed. The pool at the bottom of the falls is popular to swim in but definitely has crocs so be mindful.
Nice and green picnic area. Good table and seating available. Public toilets. Long drive on dirt and dusty road Long walk over steep slippery rocks to visit plunge pool and lookout.
This place has hordes of flies and they are really a nuisance. Please also be aware of the wild pigs in this campground. There was a thunderstorm the night I stayed here and the pigs ran around all night in the rain. Hearing hooves thundering around the campsite and not seeing the pigs is quite freaky. But the crocs who inhabit the area eat the pigs. Better them, than you.
Amazing spot, walk to the top was fantastic, camping spot has great facilities. The ranger in change unfortunately ruined the experience. This has been mentioned more than once from other campers
Great spot with great swimming options.
Scenic and good hike up to top pools.
Not much signage but word of mouth worked well.
Bumpy ride in but worth it
Gunlom falls is beautiful and well worth the trip but the camp ground was disappointing, the price seemed a bit excessive and there was a 10pm ‘curfew’ that was enforced by the rangers. Is a little disappointing due to the reason that I go camping is to be social with friends and no noise past 10pm is quite stupid.
Great spacious campsite with clean, flush toilets and hot showers. Close to Gunlom falls. The road in (as of 24/8) was heavily corrugated
Massive campground with heaps of space and all the facilities although the showers were no great as the taps wouldn't let much water out and if someone was using the toilets on the other side it would just stop the water at all so the shower takes a while as you have to wait for the water to come back! But the campground is close to the waterhole and to the walk and is absolutely stunning whether you're just at the bottom of it or at the top! The top is a definitely go to!
Large campground with ample amenities. Hot showers and flushing toilets. Fire pits available if wanted.
Simple campground with fire pits, showers etc.
The pools up the top are worth the steep trek with great views
The pool at the bottom is an enormous and beautiful place to swim. The walk to the top of the falls is steep but easily manageable even for seven year olds. Amazing views, fantastic pools, waterfalls etc. A really great place to explore and relax. One of the best places we went in the NT.
