Goat Island reviews
22If you want different, this is a whole new experience. Expect the Unexpected. We flew in via helicopter with Airborne Solutions and King Kai was very entertaining.
Amazing this place exists. Very unique pub/motel in the middle of the crocodile infested Adelaide river. As long Kai is running the place this will always be a must visit in the Darwin area. Fanfrkntastic.
Now this is an iconic place as you can get and King Kai is a brilliant host, very cold beer in a hot land and so welcome, sitting outside in the shade with fans going to cut the heat, lovely
Great midpoint in the Adelaide river cruise.
Place is only accessible by boat or chopper. The owner is very funny, but if your one of the new bread of Marshmallow Aussies who are offended by everything this place is not for you. Political Correctness not allowed. If you love old school Australia where u can sit enjoy the view with a cold beer and spin a yarn without worried about offending anyone, go there you'll love it. Nice to see there are still places like it in Australia.
Fantastic trip up the Adelaide river seeing crocodiles in there natural habitat, fishing while we cruised too Goat Island, a meal& beer with King Kai (Don) mad Danish man he is! It was an unreal day, the guys a laugh good jokes& food was very nice the buffalo burgers & wine& beersall good cheers visit him when you can! It's, worth it And Kacey the crocadile shes for real.
Animal abuser!
The lodge has invaded the crocodile area and instead of respecting the animals, they attack them and abuse them.
What a magnificent location on the Adelaide River. Host King Kia was very helpful and had nice cool drinks to enjoy. Great spot.
I was first taken out to Goat Island in March 2021 by some really good mates of mine who live near Marrakai. I was introduced to King Kai and we promptly sat down and thoroughly enjoyed a few nice cold beers whilst we had a good old yarn with Kai. Hell of a really nice bloke and an absolutely brilliant host.
Without a shadow of a doubt, King Kai definitely has one of the best places in Australia to call home. Marvellous location, excellent host. This is one of those occasions where you are fortunate enough to go to an absolutely brilliant location that has an absolutely brilliant host who's personality and charm is far above and beyond what is expected from anyone or anywhere. Cheers to you Kai. I wish you all the best for years to come.
I was at goat island back in 1995 didn't look like it does now.but i have always promise my self i will be back.great place to get away from it all!
Amazing freehold island in the Adelaide river only accessible by boat or chopper. Say hello to Kai and Casey the cute
Enoyed the boat trip with my mates to have a few cold beers at goat island with kai (what a character) and a yarn! A few big lizards in Adelaide river!
Omg best place ever, loved the service from king Kai, and muddy loved my beer, and the crocodile loved victorians lol, will be back one day for sure.
King Kai Great bloke probably you saw him in a YouTube videos He’s very warm and welcoming towards guests.
Unforgettable experience, if you’re Australian or backpacker definitely worth a penny. The fascinating part was the way he called crocodiles and praise them.
He’s got a lot of cool stories too
Went there for a beer nice place love the owners pets as you can see. Very relaxing. And a plus the beer is really cold.sick of fishing go put ya feet up its worth it.
Awesome place up the Aligator River! King Kai cooks the most delicious Buffalo Burgers around, served with cold beers and lots of humour. Great to meet you Kai - you're a Legend! See you again one day!
An icon of the territory. I make sure I get out there to see Kai every time I visit the top end.
Just bloody awesome. Cheers king kai.good food, croc spotting and cold beer.top place, top bloke.cheers.
A must visit if you are on the river. Drinks are cold and company is interesting every time. Access via boat or heli crawl. Host is very colourful and full of laughs. Pack your funny elbow. If offended easily than mental preparation is suggested. Take cash in case card machine has internet trouble. There are rooms and toilets. Call ahead of time if needs be.
Photos of the recent flood at the Jumping Croc Adelaide River bridge and house at Goat Island. Great place to visit.
