Gillen club

Steak looked like it was boiled and the mashed potatoes were powered. Not the best place to eat

The food is still great here, however I was absolutely blown away yesterday when I ordered a SCHOONER (425 ml) of Carlton Draught, so not even a premium beer like Fat Yak etc, they now charge $10.20 for a schooner (425 ml). That is beyond a joke. Even the local brewery which makes its own beers & they are premium, only charge $10 for a PINT (570 ml). I cant even imagine what Gillen Club would charge for a pint, $20? After that horrid shock I will no longer be patronising this once great club. Those prices don't pass any Pub Test, well maybe they would in the Sydney CBD or Airport!

Great food, But don't send members home because they left their membership cards at home! This is why we have computers!

As clubs go it's the best in town but unless you know a group of people in there it's not that great!

Im a fly in and out worker so for convenience we go for tea a couple times a week, been doing this for couple years. Have been to the gillen club lots of times and truth is the meals are ok (pub type meals). But customer service is terrible. The staff are rude and need to be taught how to respect customers. I know finding staff in Alice Springs isn't easy. But I'd rather run a business with limited staff than with rude staff. After reading the comments on this you would think management would do something about it! Time for us to find a new local. Bad form gillen club.
Not sure how I reply to you so ill let you know here. I'm not sure who the person in charge was but I've had way too many meals there to count but the service is generally average. But food is cheapish and ok. It's certainly not the first night that we have had bad service. Sat back last night while eating our tea and decided it would be our last meal at gillen. Shame cause we always go to Sunday roasts. Because you had a function we sat where we could see the staff in the bar area and was just amazed at the way they interacted with each other with the security staff infront of the patrons. Maybe it's time for the owners to have mystery patron to visit and just sit back and watch how things are. By the way this is my first negative review ever but I've spent alot of money at this establishment and I think patrons should be treated better.

Food was cold again I brought it to the table, there is no microwaves available to heat up you food all in all a disappointing meal.

If you go to the Gillen Club for a meal you certainly will not leave hungry. During recent work in Alice Springs I visited the Gillen Club twice, once for lunch and a second time for dinner. The meals were typical pub food, simple large filling serves at a reasonable price. I certainly will drop in again on my next visit to Alice Springs.

We have at least one meal here at our travels through Alice. A pleasant meal with cost comparable to elsewhere

Very ordinary. Food quality very sub standard. Management under par. But good ambiance due to visitors, but all seem to have low experience.

Great place but they won't let me call the badge draw, even on my birthday. The purveyors of raffle tickets stand at the front behind a podium like lords, instead of wandering the club like they used too. The baby's change room is also a squalid mess.

Customer service here is well less than desired.
Honestly, I expect a bit more from middle age people who still work behind a bar.
Definitely won't be visiting again by my own choice!

Great place for a quiet drink or a meal out with family and friends. Staff are friendly clean and tidy.

Good staff really good food. Plenty of room to relax have a few drinks and watch your favorite sport on the big screen

Loud noisy but so many people can't be wrong.

Goat curry was amazing. $12 was even more amazing. Friendly club. Great drinks menu. Definitely kudos to the chefs and management.

Disappointed arrived 7pm after waiting 20mins in line to be told no lamb or pork roast. At least I enjoy the beer

$10.00 lunches are terrific. Clean and friendly. Thank you. Will be back if ever this way again

The meals are value for money and the portions are out of this world. Always worth a visit when in Alice Springs!

Turned up for a meal only to discover it was steak night. $10 porterhouse! Giddy up. Misso had curry.

Great place, great staff, great food.
Nice place for lunch (steak sangers and chips) hugely busy Thursday nights for dinner. As with anywhere in Alice Springs Bring your ID.
