Beautiful place to walk around. We took a couple of hours and explored the coast. The mangrove walk was a bit dry so not much to see there.

The reserve up past the Miltary Museum is overgrown and unkempt. What is happening to this beautiful spot

If you plan on travelling from North America to East Point Reserve in Darwin, it's important to prepare for significant climate changes. Darwin's temperature can fluctuate from 24.72° to 32° C (equivalent to 76.5 to 89.6°F), but with time, you can acclimate to the weather. To learn how to survive in a heat wave, you can listen to John Williamson's song "Heatwave”. John’s work earned him the distinguished title of becoming a Member of the Order of Australia in 1992.

While in Darwin, there are numerous attractions to explore, such as the Botanic Gardens, heritage sites, and exhibits like the Darwin Military Museum. The museum tells the story of how estranged governments, like Australia and Japan, can become best of friends. It's crucial to learn from history to avoid repeating it.

In spite of the heat and humidity, visitors are bound to enjoy the charm of the reserve. Popular activities include hiking, biking, and having a traditional Australian BBQ with friends. You can also try bush tucker, including witchetty grubs, which have a honey-like taste. Australia is home to many colorful people, from bushmen to World War 1 diggers of the Australia and New Zealand Army Corp (“ANZAC”), and those who served in World War 11. The fallen naval members of the United States Peary on February 19,1942, along with other spirits, remain forever watchful over Darwin, “the land down under”, its neighbours and beyond!

I really enjoy this walk, so peaceful and calming and such beauty in the surrounds and so many cute critters.

Great for sunsets. The tracks are also great for exercise. Plenty of birds and kangaroos to be seen. Fantastic

Everyone seems to say it is dog friendly. At the enterence gate signs clearly states no dogs allowed, on the spot fines applied. Didnt chance going in.

Quiet uncrowded mangrove area with pathways and bbq and picnic areas, water fountains and toilet facilities. Beautiful views round the bays and plenty of parking. Memorial for the first flight London to Australia nearby too.

So much at East Point Reserve. Military Museum, Pee Wee's Restaurant (fine dining), great walks and picnic areas. Lake Alexandria very beautiful with all the wildlife.
