Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre reviews
37The host was warm and friendly, very engaging and knowledgeable dinner was good we all sang and looked at the stars, an enjoyable time.
Brilliant evening at this amazing place made even better thanks to our MC and entertainer Barry Skipsey
Awesome experience sleeping under the stars in swags on a dark sky night. Very well organised with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this activity for something different when going to Alice Springs. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic experience - was able to purchase a drink from the bar, use a couple telescopes and learn about space and navigation from their knowledgeable and experienced staff. Plus, what better place to look up than in the outback? ! I would highly recommend!
We visited Earth Sanctuary last week for dinner and the star talk. Unfortunately, we were rained out from the stars so had dinner inside the homestead but it was so delicious it didn't matter! My fave meal of the trip - great, home-cooked, tasty fare and they catered to my dietary requirements with ease (thank you!).
Everyone that worked there was super friendly and welcoming, and Danny's passion during the astronomy talk made me wish we were staying overnight for the full experience. A must-do when visiting Alice Springs.
Unfortunately we were a little disappointed at $41 each. The guys where fantastic and the facilities where great, lovely feel to the setup area where you can sit and have a beer or wine however the telescope time was very short viewing the same thing, the moon, I perhaps thought there would be a few things being shown via the telescopes with more time however it was a quick glimpse then a 30min talk on the stars, great knowledge shared by great people however felt ripped at the price sorry.
Supposed to be 1.5 hour show but only went for 1 hour!
Thoroughly enjoyed our star gazing experience! The facilitators were knowledgeable and engaging and we learnt some fascinating mind boggling facts! Highly recommended!
We had our wedding at the earth sanctuary and were blown away by the wonderful service from the team. They made every decision easy, and went above and beyond to help us organise and have our wedding the way we had imagined. Candice was exceptionally professional and so easy to work with. They were very flexible to our ideas/needs. The venue was absolutely beautiful - and we would so recommend people to consider this business for any large events!
Nice talk about the Sanctuary, then a lovely meal and talk about the stars, ending with Damper.
We had booked a nice barbecue dinner and show which included country music and a star gazing talk very enjoyable
We had the best astronomical experience. The family who runs this are amazing. He mapped the sky in such simple words that I want to learn more about southern skies and have become more passionate about it. My child also enjoyed it a lot and is now hooked onto finding the southern Cross where ever we go.
If you ever write a book or start a blog, please keep me posted. Our family will definitely read it.
We visited the Astronomy Tour which was great! I liked a lot the commentary from the bearded man (sorry, I don't remember his name). We were able to see Moon surface and got to know lot of information about sky on the southern hemisphere. Recommended. (May 22)
An amazing evening where we learnt so much about the “night sky. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Such an informative light hearted evening spent under the stars, beer in hand and a world of knowledge from the operators.
Want to experience something out of this world visit the Earth Sanctuary just outside Alice Springs in the NT. My family and I were blown away seeing planets from the telescopes as if we could just reach out and touch them. Tom, Dan and their Father Joey are the perfect teachers of the stars and universe. We were blessed to be able to camp at the sanctuary. Showers and toilets clean and with no light pollution you can lay in your swag and just look up at the night sky and count falling stars. Beautiful & quiet.
It was the best view of the night sky. Dark skies with minimal illumination of mankind.
Great explanations of the planet.
Absolutely amazing. A must-do. Guides / owners are incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and insightful, and the view of the moon through the huge telescope was stunning. I could have stayed a whole week or more out there musing about space and chilling at their outdoor bar. Down-to-earth perfection.
My husband and I paid for a personal experience with two of the earth sanctuary staff, Andrew Fitzgerald and Anna (?) on a perfect clear, crisp evening in Alice Springs. Andrew and Anna were very knowledgeable about astronomy and happy to share their knowledge in a simple, informative and entertaining way and we were able to view stars through their big telescope. Two hours flew by and my only complaint was the mosquitoes which of course couldn’t be helped, although Anna had repellant for us to use which helped. It was a great night!
We were also lucky to see another presentation from one of the earth sanctuary partners at an off train experience while travelling on the Ghan. We had dinner under the stars on another perfect clear evening and during the evening, the partner (my apologies for not remembering his name) gave us a brilliantly funny, educational and informative guide to the stars over our heads.
I thoroughly recommend a visit to the Earth Sanctuary.it was one of our highlights!

A brilliant experince, the staff are very knowledgeable about the stars and skies. The set up with three telescopes on tne night made it easy for everyone to see the stars.
Breathtaking.
I was silent through the whole tour because I was bloody gobsmacked, by the beauty of the place, and the information I received I can't wait to go back.
