Dukes Cafe + Eatery reviews
46The best coffee I’ve had since I arrived in Australia 4 weeks ago. I told the server it was delicious but her response was a sour face. Too bad she didn’t appreciate the compliment especially if she was a student.
Great service with happy and helpful staff.
We had the omelette and it was delicious.
And a great playlist playing.
Great way to start your morning.
I had a negative experience when I went in to buy lunch this week. The blonde girl behind the counter seemed to ignore me standing there waiting for service. Then another customer approached and she went towards him to serve him first. He declined and motioned if I had been served. She insisted she wanted to serve him. Then I stepped up and placed my order. This is shoddy customer service! I will NOT be returning there! Left a bad impression! This person needs more training re cultural diversity and unconscious bias. I am an older female person of colour and paying customer. Zero stars for service and atmosphere!
Deluxe Beef Bacon Burger ($19.9)
Iced Long Black (5.5$)
I wanted to eat a beef burger, so I searched hard the day before. There were many other menu items, but the burger was a success. I was a little disappointed that the French fries were dry, but the burger was really delicious. There was a lot of coffee as well.
No frills humble establishment with a great menu. Friendly staff serving serving delicious food and coffee.
My breakfast was absolutely atrocious this morning and I walked out with half of it still on the plate.
I ordered the omelette and it was rubbery, thick as a book, and tasteless. I would have covered it in sauce in an attempt to add some flavour, except the place was void of any condiments at all. Are you the only cafe on earth to not have condiments available? I couldn’t even find pepper.
When did you guys stop caring? Because it looks like you’re a 4.5-star average and that’s not even close to what I experienced today.
Great coffee, huge omelette and quick service. Sorry, ate it before I remembered to take a photo!
Paid 10$ for an orange juice! And only got a cup the size of a small? I understand times are tough but this is ridiculous. The juice was tasty but only lasted 4 sips.atmosphere was so chill too
Coffee is bad and the food is overpriced. $10 for a croissant with half a piece of ham and what tastes like Kraft single cheese.
Go somewhere else. Extremely long wait time. Friend had finished her cooked breakfast and coffee. Waited another good half hour for an acai bowl that resembled a chocolate milkshake.thin, runny and chunks of ice. Very disappointed overall.
$13.80 for large (really a medium) coffee and a very thin H&C toastie. Average value. I was going to eat-in but walked past uncleared tables that were fly-blown. One girl delivered a single coffee to a customer at a table beyond the mess and returned without clearing.also with a sour look on her face. Bad training and management. Coffee was made with a smile but whole episode soured the vibe. Finally, need more non-egg selections
Friendly, efficient service. I really enjoyed my pastry from the very appealing selection. Great coffee! I'll be back.
Coffee was OK, but paid 19$ for eggs Benedict, and got 1 egg, should be called egg Benedict, massively overpriced.
Pretty average breakfast, nothing special in terms of the bread that was used for toast. Hash browns turned out to be potato gems and they’d ran out of avocado. The coffee wasn’t bad.
Has Dukes changed owners? I went this morning and it was the worst coffee and breakfast I’ve ever had from there. The coffee was served cold and my eggs on toast was bland and the bread was dry. Dukes was always my favourite spot, too. Even the energy of the cafe has changed. Definitely wont be going again. Very disappointing experience. Will stick to the The Harvest Press.
Nice coffee ️ and the breakfast burger was nice. I recommend sitting inside as Darwin is quite humid, when eating your meal you'll sweat it out hehe
Excellent breakfast, they didn’t have French toast on the menu but made it for me with fruit and yummy bacon along with fresh squeezed oj. Delicious, thank you!
Group of 9 came for breakfast service was slow and orders were coming out wrong wouldn’t come again
Went here yesterday and it was lovely but I can only assume the regular staff don't work Sundays. They waited 40 minutes to tell me they didn't have what I ordered in stock and then what they did serve wasn't cooked properly. So maybe come on Saturdays but not Sundays
Food and coffee is always fantastic!
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Love this place!
