Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve reviews
35Just sightseeing majority ix sacred dites with limited photo opportunity but none the less very interesting geological rock formation
Great place to stay, right at the base of these amazing rock formations. Easy walks for all ages. Some sites are quite uneven / sloped, site 20 or 21 would be the best. Unfortunately, the drop toilets were quite smelly during our stay. NOTE: Sites must be booked online before arrival.
Absolutely amazing camp experience. Non flush toilets but the silhouettes of the marbles against the outback stars is amazing. Cheap for a night.
This was a quick stop, easy walk a few flies. Interesting information.
Real carvings to see. A good stop. Totally recommend.
Pit toilets. A few walking tracks. Lots of car parks.
Excellent place to stopover. The marbles are just Devine and the short walks are well worth the effort. Site 20 is a good one with afternoon shade and it's near the newer toilet which is the better one. You can book from the day parking area as there is phone reception there.
Worthwhile detour from the Stuart Hwy south of Tennant Creek takes you through this surreal landscape of huge importance to the Aboriginal people of this area. Handy day use rest area with shaded picnic areas, and laybys near most of the really photogenic rock formations. The road returns you to the Stuart Hwy.
WOW. You have to visit, if not for a day trip but book a camp site in advance and stay directly in the midst of the scenery. A relatively popular campsite with long drops, it does state there was wifi at the campsite but you will definitely be off grid.
Amazing place stay overnight see the sunset and sunrise beautiful location with drop toilets booking is recommended but difficult to do
Fabulous walks around the marbles with terrific views but the campground was awful. The smell from the toilet was beyond toxic. I was parked at site 6 and could smell if from there. I have no problem with long drops or bush toilets but this was the worst. I could not stay a night there and had to leave. DO NOT book sites 6-10.
This is surprisingly amazing, I really enjoyed walking around and through them. Worth the effort to put it on your holiday list.
Well worth the stopover and was perfect timing for an overnighter for us. Best ways to view the rock formations is via bike along the established trails and at sunset facing the rocks.
The campground was busy so don’t expect to have much of your own space, also only about 2/3 of the sites were flat. All four drop loos were however incredibly clean. There are picnic tables, fire pits and an area for tents also.
Worth stopping for. There is a basic camp site at the back plenty of interprative signage. Climbing the rocks is prohibited, but this doesnt deter some tourists
Nice rocks and very interesting history.very pretty and unique place.only disappointing thing was the rude, arrogant woman on the gate at the campground so we went to the pub and better value.
What a great, iconic Aussie attraction, the campground now has hosts and the sites are spacious, and still (for the time being) only $3.30 per adult/night.
Lovely bush Campground packed solid with caravans. Where are campers supposed to? We stopped a km up the road in a layby.
Devil's Marbles is a worthwhile road stop; thoroughly recommended.
You can take in the vista from just the campground or park rest area, and/or choose from several signposted walks.
The rest area shelter provides good commentary and the toilets beyond the boulders are better than quite a few others.
Gorgeous place. We visited for sunrise AND sunset. The latter was definitely better but it was so nice to see the colours change on the rocks as the sun rose. Really amazing place.
Totally magic place!
get lost in the wonder of the place! Then realise you're actually lost.
My 6YO didn't want to leave!
I get it that the inflow of people means they gotta be organised.but the fences! The signs!
What a majestic rock formation.well worth a stop to this location. Does have toilets and wheel chair access easy. It does get hot although well worth stopping and taking in the culture of the area and our beauty of this part of the country. Its free access to this spot.
