Darwin Railway Club reviews
28Very quiet the night I went but great little bear garden and dogs seem to be welcome which is a huge plus
Classic venue in Darwin, and one of the only ones that makes the slightest attempt to host good acts from interstate.
Coolest pub in Darwin, with incredible live music offerings and the best quiz night around (Thursdays!). Don't overlook the woodfired pizzas and gorgeous garden (with chickens, possums, and even the odd turtle saying hello)!
Loved my experience performing here, but the mould and sinking ceiling in the back room needs to be fixed! Love the atmosphere
Enjoyed a God night at the Railway. Great food. Great service and customer service, second to none!
Great Wednesday nights here.
Great live big band, swing dancing (and classes), and the food and service is top notch
Another great night of live music at The Railway Club. Thank you for the great bands, handling the storm's interruption last night with care for punter and staff safety and managing to keep show going! Well bloody done.
Great night of dancing at this Club, friendly crowd, good pub food and great band. Club just needs a little TLC, a clean up of all the rubbish lying right around the outside would make it more inviting to the newcomer. Would return when next in Darwin though.
Nice casual pub with great live music. Food and drinks very well priced. Friendly atmosphere with a garden outside if you are not into live music. Limited choice of food but great to see traditional fish and chips served in butcher paper
On Friday 22 July I was out for an evening walk and I was disappointed when stopping in at the Railway club to enquire about a Robbie William's/Ed Sheeran tribute event I was interested in.
I approached an empty bar around 11: 05 pm weighting 30+ seconds for staff to finish having a chuckle a man in his late 50s early sixties and a woman late 20s early 30s I think of foreign nationality due to her accent.when I enquired about the event they said they didn't know anything about it they did not make an effort to find out and said sorry and dismissed me and continued talking when I was about to order a drink, so i left.
Again the lack of service was disappointing though also unacceptable.
I will return to my previous rating of 4 stars or higher if they employ staff who care.
Nice layout for a drink with live music / concerts.
Indoor or outdoor there is a good atmosphere with friendly staff
The Railway Club is a nice little club, a few of us go for a beer and play pool there on a Sunday, every month or so. It is often remarked how grumpy the barman is, he seems annoyed that anybody actually visits the club. Yesterday we went to the club and he was just plain rude and when it was pointed out that maybe he shouldn't talk to paying guests that way, he started flapping his arms about, got red faced and told us to leave, we'd only just got there! It was like something out of Fawlty Towers. Absolutely bizarre behaviour.
Unparalleled venue even in another universe would be hard to find a more original establishment than what this place has to offer.
Great jazz and wonderful vibe. Amazing sound of this 16-piece band to listen and/or dance to. Was so good that we went two Wednesdays in a row before lock down! Would love to have heard a vocalist sing with such a fabulous and professional band. A definite highlight of the entertainment scene in Darwin not to be missed. Busy dance floor but managed to squeeze in a couple of Ballroom quicksteps and jives amongst the mostly swing dancers! Friendly and welcoming people. Excellent wood fired vegetarian pizza too. Real privilege for us travelers to have such quality music to enjoy and cherish in a fun and relaxed environment. Thank you Darwin Railway Club.
One of the best venues around Darwin to enjoy a nice, cold beer.
With a fantastic beer garden- often with dogs and chickens roaming freely, pool tables and a very comfortable dining/drinking area.
They host live music most nights, and art classes quite regularly.
Definitely worth a visit.
Would've given 5 stars however I was unable to get a Long Island Ice Tea, alright venue! Trivia is not much to write home about.
Great sitting areas inside and out. Bar staff efficient and friendly. Plenty of room on the floor for dancing if you see s band.
Fantastic beer garden and chilled out staff. This place is a great music venue. I recommend you check out out the music trivia on a Thursday night. I hate trivia but the dorky host does an excellent job and makes it quite fun. This is a gem in Darwin.
Fantastic venue situated in the heart of suburbia in Parap. Friendly staff and patrons, great kitchen serving quality, well priced small meals. We will be regulars!
